9600GT problem

329 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  zomgiwin
My MSI 9600GT 512MB graphics card was overclocked to 735MHZ/1003MEM stable, and now I can't even get 715MHZ/995MEM stable. It runs @53C Full load @ 35% fan speed, so heat isn't a problem. I didn't vmod either.
I am running @ 710MHZ/995MEM now.

My CPU is OC to 3.335GHZ, but it's stable. I have a Corsair TX-650w PSU, and an ASRock P45R2000Wi-Fi.

Why isn't it stable anymore @735? I haven't changed a thing.

Thanks.

You say temps aren't a problem but it could be that your room temperature has increased. I live in Alabama and it has gotten ALOT hotter here, my room temps have gone up by about 3-4C. I just had to downclock my GPU for the spring/summer.
could windows have automatically updated your drivers? Different drivers can effect OC.

I think that it can. I read in the read-me file for a driver cleaning program, that you needed to disable your internet to keep Windows from automatically trying to re-install drivers. The program cleaned more than just graphics drivers so I'm not sure if Windows will auto update them too.

That is a good point, that I forgot sgdude.

"a300", What version Nvidia drivers are you using?

I would go ahead and raise the fan speed to at least 80%.

Then it sounds louder than a vacum. It is a MSI fan unit, NOT STOCK, and so, is much louder.
