Are these cards in SLi better than a HD4870x2 or a GTX 295?

According to some forums you can achieve 80+fps on very high with 2 of those cards, cant be sure on the reliablilty.

very high on what? 80 FPS of studdering?

there no point in going sli 9800GX2. just stick with one 9800GX2 and wait for the next best thing from either vendors or buy a gtx295

Checked some benchmarks and turns out my card's perform better than GTX295, also I have heard that the 295's are unreliable, overheat, cause microstuttering and break.

GX2 is better but GTX295 is a good single GPU solution. In term of power consumption, GX2 is a 197w GPU vs. GTX295 is a 289w GPU.
