Ubder scare this morning, while eating the breaky. Just sitting there, having a sweet bowl of Cheerios, which I might add were quite scrumtuous today..and as some may know, massive thunderstorm going on here in Hamilton. I turned off the computer/Monitor, obvi, its a power storm! BUT, this didnt stop what was about to happen. Out of nowhere a massive spark, a bolt if you will of electricity came from my computer. I was scared ****less. I was looking right at it, and then randomly a tick sound and a huge bright electrical flash, with a clear bolt comming out from the computer. Not 2 seconds later a HUUUUUUUUUGE bolt of lightning came crashing down somewhere nearby. ofmg, this scared me. I'm guessing something along the lines of, a positive streamer heading to the sky? From my pc? LUCKILY after booting the PC she still worked, and actually booted quicker

Anyways, I'm in school now...gotta take off. I'll need some OCnet councelors

If it made the boot time faster, imagine what it couldve done with your oc. Imagine like ~6ish in the gighertz range... Now that'd be impressive......

Mine did too. I had shivers in my spine. It seemed to come from the side, where my case fan is. Lets see if I can dig up an old photo. I was soooo scared...i tell you thiis is 100% true. Made a clicking sound when it did that. I myself have ruled that it was a positive streamer intended to reach a lightning bolt, but it connected elsewhere. F'ing scared me...

[edit, tooo big, view in attachment]

The spark came from where that fan is, but the computer was in its little cubby.

Pro - Computer is still working, thank god!
Con - Coulda got a new Core 2 Duo

Something similiar happened to me, but it was just a spark. And it was when a friend of mine through a penny at me. And it landed on my mobo. And connected two pins near the NB.

Cleared my CMOS.

Wow, that wasn't even close to being similar.

lol God has a Dell, so he can't overclock. To get his overclocking fix, he does this kinda stuff to other peoples' comps.

The lightning bolt probably "shocked" something into it. Hence, triggering something beyond our expectations

It wasn't a positive streamer. Those things are huge, not a few inches or whatever.
