A few simple mods to improve airflow

I have a Cooler Master Wavemaster, and I would like to do 2 small mods to improve the airflow.

First, I have 2 extra external 5.25" bays that I would like to replace the covers with mesh. I am wondering where I could buy these mesh covers, or if I could somehow buy the mesh separately, and then cut the current drive bay covers and install the mesh myself.

Second, I would like to open up the PCI slots too. I think it looks really ugly to just not have a cover over the openings. I saw the Silverstone Aero Covers, but I was wondering if I could do something myself (ie with mesh or somehow cut the slots myself.

Agreed.

As far as the PCI slot covers, honestly, I don't think the time/effort of cutting them would be worth it. I would just buy the pre-finished ones. I personally have a few in my rig and they look awesome (especially if the interior of the case is painted and the slot covers are painted to match). I really think dealing with modding the small buggers would be too much PITA over just buying them

Can't you just leave the pci slots open?

Yes, but the slot vented ones (like the OP linked) and some nice thumbscrews look sooo much better
