A little dilemma...

I am planning on buying parts for a new rig this Christmas and am having a small dilemma. I also have no TV anymore (Bleeping power surge) and was thinking of getting a monitor that can also work as a HDTV or a HDTV that can also be a monitor. I wanted to wait on a TV because I've been looking up alot on LED and OLED TVs and from what I've seen it isn't worth buying them right now because of the price, but later on it will be. The problem I think I might have if i have a monitor as a TV also is that it's going to be to effing small..Can't watch my colts games if it looks like I'm staring at ants. So pretty much this. Monitor that can work as a HDTV or a HDTV that I could also use as a gaming monitor...yes it sounds a bit weird

id get something like this

26" is a good size monitor and not bad for a TV, any bigger and its going to cost and also might be too big for a monitor id say, although ive not tried one so maybe bigger would be ok. This one has a good price though.

of course, you could probably use any new monitor as a tv quite easily, so its just down to which resolution and size you want and the price.
I'm looking for 1920x1200 or 1920x1080...was also thinking of another problem that might happen. I know 1920x1200 is better for gaming, but if I used the monitor as a TV...then I'd have the bars. Not that the bars are a bad thing, but I guess it could get annoying....

You can just stretch the picture, it will still look quite good.

So a 1920x1200 would be best choice if doing a mix of gaming/watching TV than a 1080p HDTV? If so then which monitor would be best?
