A8N32 SLI Delux Problem

Can I fit two graphics cards ( width is to i/o covers (each) cards themeselves are only half this wide,) with a tuner and sound sound cards

I want to put in a tuner card, I have an old happage card that will do just fine, but i dont remeber if its an AGP or PCI but i can alwas get a new one, I also want to put a Xi-Fi Elite Pro Sound card in there as well, despite its name its not very big lol, all the tuner card has to do is play incoming video and record it, a radio feature would be nice but required.

any ideas on how I can get this in this mobo, even with the pci express cards being in awkward locations?

Difficult to say... you have 3 PCI slots you'll need 2 unobstructed slots... just remember to have OB sound disabled in the BIOS!
well if I cant, is there another mobo that will do that is just as sstable and has the came same overclocking ability? I heard DFI is better for OC'ing but isnt as stable? whats with that?
The Asus A8N32 has 3 PCI slots - 2 of which are in between the GPUs. SO with 2 GPUS in SLi both of which a dual slot you will only end up with on spare PCI slot available and this will be in between the GPUs so not looking good from a space or a heat point of view.

The DFI Expert also 3 PCI slots all on the outside of the PCIe slots - 1 of which will be blocked by a dual slot GPU. This is likely to be your best option if needing 2 PCI slots & SLi GPU operation.
I have the A8Nsli deluxe with TV TUNE CARD AND MY XFI CARD with plenty of room to fit a second 7800gt with full h/s
The A8N is a different layout, has 3 PCI slots outside of the PCIe group - 2 of which would be free if SLi dual slot GPUs are used. He is asking about the A8N32...

Sorry just offering an alternative to DFI .I understand that the dfi is a better 0/cing board but there is a lot of people that the dfi,s bios scares .

Do you have the board in hand? The board will take 3 pci cards inbetween two SLI PCI-E video cards (2 in between and one below) as long as the cards are single slot cooling. For example, my 7800GT's have zalman vf-700's on them thus taking two slots. All I have free is one PCI (which I use for SB audigy 2 zs). If you actually look at the board, you will see that it won't be an issue. I was intially concerned about layout for my setup when I bought the board but it really comes down to what kind of cooling your cards have. I don't have a gtx but I assume most models use a single height cooling solution. If they are dual slot you are out of luck. Incidently, Tom's Hardware, Anandtech and HardOCP all rate this board tops for OC purposes.

Not sure what you meant by this. Sorry if I misunderstood.

Only Asus and MSI have dual 16X on the market right now.

the i/o cover makes the card look bigger than it is, and n0 I dont have the mobo yet, let me find a pic of the cards

btw, dosent asus use a higher bandwith for the pci express 16 slots?

The asus has two "true" 16x PCI-E slots on the A8N32. All other boards (except the new MSI) use a shared 16x (which mean two 8x lanes).

hmm so maybe i should wait for a better layed out mobo by asus or wait for the other guys to catch up?

Dude, your link is showing 4 cards? Also, they are all only single height cards from what I can see. your first link doesn't show anything. If the second pic is accurate you will be fine. Single height cooling will give you 3 free slots. The io shields on the cards in the pic is also single slot.
lol well thats because its a two in one sorta deal, the first pic actualy shows 2 cards not 4, look at the metal plate that will be displayed at the back of the pc, theres two thin cards configured into one of those
I just looked at the title of the link from legit reviews. You're kidding right? Quad SLI. the only system on the planet the "supposedly" has these is a the dell showcase system. They aren't even on the market yet. The only dual 7800 series cards that are available are the Asus 7800GT duals (I think MSI has one as well).

Incidently, are you planning on robbing a bank to pay for them?

The 7800GT duals do need two slots and from your "pic" it looks like the gtx duals will be the same. The MSI board is layed out a bit differently but is inferior in quality to the asus.
Actually, the MSI would have only one free PCI slot as well.

Also, A couple of the gtx models have tv in/out.

hmmm , so i would neen a DFI expert, right?

hmmm fit all my cards or have a higher bandwith?

when will the next generation of mobos be released?
Do the DFI's even support "quad SLI" cards? Really, if you are building a wish list thats fine but why don't you start with a budget and build from there? I have plenty of disposable income but I would be very hard pressed to spend 6 or 7 grand on a tower that would need to be upgraded in a year or two. You could build a really decent tower forunder $2500 US without trying to figure out if the quad sli cards that probably won't hit the market until the end of the year are going to work with a specific motherboard.

good point, and income is an issue anyway lol, imm working on it, basicaly I have an old etower 600 so Im going to build one that can do all the gaming and such, shure now one realy needs that much gpu power anyway but i dont want to have to upgrade if i dont have to so if its nt top of the line in two years, no big deal lol, it should still be enough, by the time ii get the cooling they will have new mobos anyway lol,

things are moving kind of slow, but i turn 16 on the 26 so im going to get a job lol,

thanks for the advice

edit: forgot to mention, I just ordered an Acer t135 to tide me over lol *rolls eyes* so is not a rushed project, phase change is expensive but if i overclock the cpu it should be able to keep up for awile
