A8N32-SLi POST problem :(

A buddy of mine said he was having a visual problem with his computer a few days ago.. so I told him I would take a look. Turns out, it's a POST problem. I started the computer up, it gave me one single beep and got stuck on its setup menu screen.

I don't have a clue what the problem would be. I tried clearing the CMOS... nothing. Disassembled it, then reassembled it... nothing.

When I took a closer look at the actual screen, I noticed that there were what I want to call "streaks" running vertically through the right half of the screen. There is no response from the keyboard, so I can't get into the BIOS at all.

I tried fiddling with the RAM, but when I removed some of the sticks, I ended up getting nothing.

System Specs;
Athlon 64
A8N32-SLi (looks like the basic)
~3G DDR RAM
500W PSU
GeForce 8800GTS

I appreciate any help
It'd be a shame to scrap it if it's fixable. Need any more info feel free to ask.

Did you disconnect the PSU from the wall outlet when you pulled the battery?

After a reset, try a single stick in the slot closest to the CPU.

Booting without memory, CPU or Video card installed should generate beep codes (other than the single post beep). If you don't hear these with the component removed, it's likely a bad mobo, though it could be a bad PSU or a bad cable somewhere.

It's also an A8N32-SLi Deluxe if that makes it it a significant difference.

Yes, that's why the suggestion to boot with one stick only.

Yeah, I tried that, once with each stick of RAM. It powered up each time, all fans ran on high speed, and I recieved no video. After putting back in all 4 sticks, I recieved the normal 'setup' screen. It then proceeded to a screen that said CMOS information is wrong. Press F1 for Setup or press F2 for default settings, but there is no responce from the keyboard. Num Lock is on too, which makes me think it's not a keyboard error.

These are what I'm seeing when I start it up, notice the streaks.

Does anyone else have an idea what the problem could be? I'm kind of stuck at the moment...
