About Harddrive health

ok i got a couple harddrives that ive been using and idk if the system lags and problems i have been getting is from hardware or software. I didnt start experiencing this problem till i got a new dvdburner http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827118030 (which keeps disappearing in device manager but no coasters yet) and when i installed the game Sacred 2:Fallen Angel. So i wanted to know if there is any programs out there that can pretty much burn in a hard drive kinda like OCCT does or prime95 for stability reasons. And also if anyone has same dvd burner and has experienced the same problem as I have.

I'm pretty sure "burning in" a hdd could only be passed by overvolting it in terms of things you never want to do to an hdd
well i mean to make sure its working like it should. stress test as you may say
oh and im running a Norton 360 virus scan and its locking up programs also...and stops "Not Responding" when i pause the scan.....kinda makes me scared lol would be 3rd Hard drive this year too....grr
There are programs like Seagate Sea Tools that check for bad sectors on the HDD.

A certain CD compiled by a man called Hiren is an AIO for testing tools.

Should work on all drives.

. It includes several tests that will examine the physical media on your Seagate or Maxtor disc drive and any other non-Seagate disc drive.

The CD from the man called Hiren includes loads of HDD testing tools from different manufacturers.
