The world’s first true gaming chassis just got better. This is how you were given the news a month ago, that CM Storm’s Sniper case will now be available in an all black version, with bolstered features and a slightly different name. You can find our review of the original here. Today, I’ll be bringing you the full review on the CM Storm Sniper: Black Edition â€" Mesh Version.

As was mentioned in the news item, this case will come in three styles. All will feature the full black interior. The only difference between them will be the left side panel and overall availability.

Just to refresh your memory, here is the updated table.

Wow that looks fantastic! A nice feature set too! Kind of resembles a pre-modded haf 932 which is quite nice.
i really hope the HAF 932 comes out in a black edition
Closest to perfection in features for a case in my opinion.

CPU cutout.

Black interior.

Cable management.

Fan controller.

Bulges on either side to allow a tall heatsink WITH the side fan installed. The bulge on the other side allows plenty of room for the large bundle of PSU cables that you rout behind the motherboard tray. All of the cases i have owned have had clearance issues with coolers and side fans and i have to force back panels on because of the wires.

The only thing i dont like about it is the motherboard tray, i would much prefer a longer tray just like the HAF 932 where there is no gap between the tray and the drive cages.

I cant find another case available that has all of these features.

I really like mine.

I had the original Sniper but really wished it had an additional 200mm fan in the door (I had to add my own fans) and of course a black interior.

It provides better case temps than my HAF932 did (even after adding better fans).
Almost looks like they put the guts of a HAF 922 into the Sniper and then added some neat features.

Sounds good to me but makes HAF owners less interested.
I will be the first to say I don't like the Sniper case, I like my cases smooth.

I second that

Why exactly is this the "world's first true gaming chasis"?

I'm too lazy to read...

It's super fugly btw.
I was gonna laugh if it did not have enough space for the HD5970. But it does.

Looks like a good case overall, but I don't enjoy the style. I'm more of an ATSC 840/Lian-Li/Antec 300 man myself.
Still i don't like it for cable management. There is no place to hide cables from what i see.
150 msrp isn't too bad for all it offers i guess. Means it should sell for 125 on sale.

i ordered mine on Friday. im ok with the looks its not bad i would rather have the LIAN LI PC-B25F but im not gonna spend $200+ on a case not at least untell i have a proper job
. its one of "those" cases like the HAF 932 or the 922 its a love it or hate it look lol. the BIGGEST thing i like about the sniper is thats its a "mid" tower case that has the room of a full tower and for the build quality its dose not have the price of a full tower

I love mine. I plan to use it for my next build too

I don't completely understand the deal with the black interior, since you can't see it with the mesh. You'd need a windowed version to really enjoy it (you can buy a windowed door but there's no fans or ventilation :\\)

I have a GTX 260 in there right now and I have like 5 inches in between the card and the drive bays

Yeah, that's my one pet peeve about this case really. It makes cable management look messy even though it isn't

The cable management is actually really awesome. I have a huge messy bulge back there and I don't have problem getting the side panel on

i know what you mean but for the SAME price (cheaper on the site i was on don't ask ) i get an extra 200mm fan an ALL black case
so when i take off my side panel my nerd friends or the ppl on OCN
will be like oooooo aaaaaa and a free mouse pad which would probably run about $20 and if i really want to have a window ill take it to my glass shop and get a real piece of glass cut out for it and get them to make it so i can mount my fan back on the side lolz but as it stands im happy with the mesh

I like the all black interior, I just don't like the case. That's just me though, I prefer a HAF932.
