Looks like I will be inline to buy Win 7 when it comes out . . . the first OS Ill actually buy retail and not get through a PC purchase, student program, or crazy live contest/MCE upgrade program

Meh, it is fun to do but doesn't serve much purpose. Since it is just for OEMs I doubt there will be much more support for it than there already is with the other programs. I want to see custom boot screen built it. That is much cooler.

Probably because this would confuse people. Multiple desktops is very simple, but some people are very stupid. inb4 OMG WHERE DID MY <insert name of extremely valuable document> DISAPPEAR TO?!?! When here all they did was click the little "2" on the task bar to switch to the second virtual desktop.

Linux already has most of these features, and I'm sure Microsoft is just holding these ideas so they won't eventually run out of things to do. Maybe Windows 9 will have a customizable startup screen, with Windows 10 bringing in a compiz-fusion-like cube. (assuming they stick with this numbered naming scheme.)
