Hi all! did read some of you guys post about ultrawide monitor. Omen X Aoc Agon Asus PG348Q... Yesterday I found in a computer store near my home a brand new monitor the Acer Z35P. It has just been announced by Acer. I was a little shocked to have it that quick, im a kind of unlucky guy in general! Not this time!
So for all of you looking to buy the best ultrawide monitor here are my toughts on the Z35P. Keep in mind my english is not perfect so...

Acer Predator Z35P: 35 inch VA panel 3440X1440 resolution Nvidia Gsync 2500:1 contrast Ratio 4ms response time 100 HZ native and can be overclock to 120hz in osd menu.

This is the only UW monitor to have the 120hz available to what I know. It is working perfectly at this refresh rate. I am typing this on it right now. I did tried some games yesterday and I never used a monitor that feels so smooth as this one.

Their is very minimal backlight bleed. It is so small that I could say that their is not at all.
Color looks vibrant and well balanced out of the box. I dont see why I would like to calibrate it more than it is like this.
Their is no flicker in games. I searched for it and did not found any.
I tried the ufo test some of you guys tried and I dont see anything wrong with it.
The monitor does have speakers and they are not that bad. Im surprise how well they sound for a monitor.

OSD menu use button to reach what you have to. No joystick. Menu is complete with a lot of option. FPS of the screen cross hair, picture quality, brighness, contrast, blue filter, black boost, adaptive contrast, gamma, srgb, color temp, saturation, 6 axex color, overdrive and overclock.

Their is no ambient light like some other ones like omen x or acer x34.
The front is matt black finish, stand is dark grey and back is dark grey aluminum type finish with the predator logo and some red parts.

So far it is by far the best monitor I tried. I was really surprise to have the 120hz available. 20hz is not huge but you can see it.
The only negative point I can have is the display port cable is short maybe 4 feet.

I did bought the Asus PG348Q and tried 3 of them for 30 days searching for the less bad backlight bleed so I know what the asus looks like and feels like.
Their is no comparaison between the 2. Acer predator Z35P is by far a best monitor is every aspect for me!

Hope this help some of you!
If you have any questions I will try to answer them!

Hello,
how is the picture quality of the Z35P VA compared to the IPS of the PG348Q.
Any noticeable differences?
Any ghosting on the Z35P as there are reports of ghosting on the Omen. ( i believe they are using the same panel)
Thank you

Hi, picture quality is better to me than the PG348Q. Color as much vivid and black more black... The asus has so much backlight bleed and ips glow, as soon as something is display more over the corners the black turns with an orange yelloish tint. Color uniformity is also very good. I tried to see any ghosting but I was not able to see any. Maybe Im less sensitive than others but I passed 15 minutes to really search for it and nothing. I have the overdrive set to standart and overclock to 120hz.

They must use all the same panel, 35 inch Va. Maybe acer steps up and add something the others doenst have. Acer is only to have overclock to 120hz.

The AG352UCG had awful image quality IMHO.
I cant say for sure if it is the same panel or not but from what I see right now it is nice quality with no problem what so ever.

Oliver, are you sure turning on 120 Hz isn't dropping the resolution down below 3440x1440? 3440x1440 at 120 Hz is above the Displayport 1.2 specification.

Could you take a screen shot of your NVIDIA control panels "resolution" page? Just curious if this is actually doing native 120 Hz 3440x1440 at 8-Bit color or if something else is going on.

I did tried the Asus PG348Q but not the the X34A. If it is the same panel then for me it is the same image quality but without the ips problems. Like I said in other post, picture vivid and sharp, colors are good, blacks are really good.

It may comes to the person looking at it. I dont do any work on my monitor relate to color accuracy. I will take a pircture of backlight bleed I am just waiting for the sun to disapear from my window.

I can wait, even tempted to get the samsung panel granted no gsync but can also reach 120hz and at those frame rates I can't see screen tearing any longer.

Oh wow nice, so they are actually overclocking the G-Sync chip above DP 1.2 standards to get 3440x1440 at 120 HZ. This is definitely now the best 21:9 monitor.

It is a shame doesn't seem you can buy it anywhere in the US. Only hits for the part number come up in Canada and Europe, out of stock.

I'm with you, CallsignVega. Hopefully it won't be too prone to the other UW VAs' (HP, AOC) reported artifacts at higher refresh rates (purple trails)...at least it's marketed as "flicker-less," heh. It's a shame there aren't more flagship G-sync UW options on the horizon.

Once this releases, the price for the Omen will have to come down.

could you please check if the Z35P drop frames @ 120 Hz? Acer doesn't even mention 120 Hz, neither the overclocking feature in the OSD menu :/

The easiest way is to go here, and there should be no stutter or skips of the motion. It should be absolutely smooth at 120 Hz:

http://testufo.com/#test=ghosting
I have done the test and at 100hz I see every 5-6 second a trail of black that appear for like half a second after the ufo. At 120hz I dont see this at all. Both 100hz and 120 hz feels as smooth.

I do have use it to game yesterday night and I have to say this is really smooth. I have a asus rog pg278q. I dont know why but the z35p feels a lot smoother than the asus at the same refresh rate of 120hz. I had to go in option to slow my mouse sensitivity down to have the same speed as I normaly have.
