Would I see an increase If I went tri-fire?....adding an extra 4870. So I'd Run a 4870x2 and a 4870.

I do not think so. If I am correct I know that 2 4870x2 do not scale very well so I do not think you will see any noticible improvements.

He wants to put a 4870 in it not another 4870x2. I would just stick with the one x2.

2 4870X2's don't scale great but that's not the question at hand. He's asking about tri-fire not quad. Tri-fire is supposed to scale fairly decently, however, I don't really think the gain would be worth the cost.

Alright Thanks I was thinking about it bc of the price drops but i guess not lol +rep

Do you guys think my psu could handle a 4870x2 and a 4870?
go for it. i heard Tri-fire scale very well. I'm planning to get another one when the price of the Hd4870 1gb decreases a little bit more. Make sure you get the 1gb version tho.
x2 plays all game maxed out... why buy another 4870 ? Wait a little, prices of 4870 will go down, then buy one.
