if they use the same socket. (a.k.a. if you plan on only switching the CPU) it Should work.

i have an intel P4 2.0 GHz with stock fan/heatsink. im thinking to upgarde to a P4 2.6Ghz.
my question is; Would a 2.6 GHz P4 work with that fan/heatsink?
