On Task Manager there is an item called ngpw36 and I looked it up on google and said it was not needed and that it might be spyware, adware, or a virus.... and they suggested a registry cleaner... so I downloaded it and it said I had over 749 errors !!!! But the thing I downloaded only took care of like 30 so please help me!!! I need to get rid of this shi*!!!

Edit: another thing is we just got this spyware program from wal-mart and it's not finding anything $30 down the drain

Tip: Don't buy software from Wal-Mart.
Try Avast and Adaware. I'll put links in a second. They will significantly help to clean up and at a price of free!
Adaware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Avast: http://www.avast.com/ (home edition is free)

They run fine together, and as the name says Adaware should clean up any spyware issues. Be sure to update it! Avast will clean up your viruses. Reboot in safe mode after installing and updating both, disable the Windows Recovery, reboot it again to make sure it's taken place (in safe mode), and run scans in both.

If all else fails, back up what you need and format!

You can try spybot as well, but adaware seemed to pick everything up that it did + some. Maybe they've grown apart. I'd reccomend getting all the help you can as long as they don't corrupt eachother.

I recomend using ccleaner. it will clean up cookies and windows junk, and also cleans your registry.

I have tried lots of different spyware products, and the following works the best for me:

If you are already infected, use the Microsoft anti-spyware tool. It seems to be the best one for detecting, AND cleaning in my opinion. If your machine is totally hosed, you really should reformat, and reinstall everything.

Once you have cleaned/reinstalled your OS, Install Mozilla Firefox. Use it as your default browser for everything. Only use Internet Exploder for things that do not display properly in Firefox (hardly anything).

Once Firefox is installed, you should install the Adblock plug-in, and import filterset.g. Importing filterset.g is a manual process, and should be done at least once a month. There is a way to automate it, but I have not tried it.

Then, download and install spywareblaster. This is basically a blacklist of bad sites that will download to both Firefox, and IE. Downloading the block list is also a manual process, and should be done at least once a month.

Since I started using this method, I have been 100% spyware free. Months and months.

Just an additional tip. Do all of your cleaning in safe mode. this way if there's an installer that runs itself and then hides, it won't have that opportunity in safe mode.
