Hello guys,

After years as an Antec (P280) happy customer, I just discovered this new Aerocool case, very awesome by my side

The only negative characteristic is not to be only very delicate, but its weight is 10 Kg more than a P280! Now my whole desktop is 19 Kg total, with this case it will be 29 Kg!!!!
Ok, I can manage it, but when you have to clean it is like to bring a baby in your arms (I use to put it on the kitchen table to clean it, on the opposite side of the house)

Here a photo

And here the link to have a full overview

https://www.aerocool.com.tw/en/chssis/pgs-b/quartz-pro

I would like to have your opinions, tks in advance!

Yes, I never owned an Aerocool case, but this one seems to be a very good product.

I was looking for different brand but like this one, just because four 3,5" slots for HDD seems to be too close my minimum tendencies (I always had cases letting me to install from 6 to 8 HDDs), but browsing in all market chassis brands (I checked more than 40 brands) all others glass tempered cases are supporting 2-3 HDD 3,5", no more.
So, also about this characteristic Aerocool seem to be the best

Why I checked others brands? Because I was wondering some one else did a similar product but not so heavy! 19 Kgs are a lot!

Anyway, this case was presented last June at the Computex and is very strange that after about 5 months non one on the web in all over the world did a good review or a video presentation, exactly the opposite way of all the other brands

Why may I need more than 4 HDDs slots? because now I have 3 HDDs (2, 5 and 8Tb respectively) and just one "spare" slot should be not enough in the future. What I found funny is to find some brands giving you the opportunity to install up to 8 HDD/SSD of 2,5" size, always mid tower cases, but is not possible also just to think to use 2Tb SSD as archive or 8Tb 2,5" HDD at 5400 rpm on a system like my one. One is too expensive, the other type too slow (and expensive)

So, actually Aerocool Quartz Pro is the best choice, weight a part

The weight is because of all the tempered glass on it.There are other cases of its style like http://www.thermaltake.com/Chassis/Mid_Tower_/View/C_00003011/View_31_Tempered_Glass_Edition_/design.htm but most are atx only no 5 inch drive bays and most of those cases if you want to mount a radiator in the front you lose almost all hard drive bays.Or http://www.corsair.com/en-us/crystal-series-570x-rgb-atx-mid-tower-case its a mid tower no 5 inch drives and you can only mount like 4 hard drives it thats all.Another one like it https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133359

Tks a lot for your time, but are all models already reviewed. Unfortunately the problem is not the missing 5" slot for the DVD burner but the limit of two/three 3,5" slots for the HDD
For the missing 5" I understood I can survive: in the last years I don't remember when I opened the shelf to insert a disk, I'm using always a USB bootable stick and, just in case, I have an external USB slim DVD burner
The weight is due to the glass, you're right, but before to get a baby like that I would to be sure there is nothing better, either from weight side than 3,5" slot. Actually, seems there are no better alternatives, this is still the best

I wrote an email to Aerocool asking why there is nothing on the web, no reviews, videos, etc. Don't seem they want to push it on the market, seems to be created just for the Computex and then abandoned

Tks again mate

No problem let me know what they say,I'm kinda in the same boat on my next case.I need one for a eatx board which is tough enough and i want options to water cool later with out having a super tower. If you don't care about the ODD cage and want a lot of hard drives and tempered glass you might find something if you look hard.If you don't mind a cube case http://www.thermaltake.com/Chassis/Cube_Case_/Core/C_00003042/Core_X5_Tempered_Glass_Edition/Design.htm Its got something like 10 drive bays total.Or give up the tempered glass https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139060

Tks mate for your time

The cube is very particular and not so bad, unfortunately its size and USB ports position are not matching my needs and accessibility, for the Corsair one it's a good case, but too standard, I need HDD slots yes, but I want also a case that anyone watching it have to ask "what is that"?

Anyway, madame Lisa, Europe Aerocool Marketing Specialist, just answered to my email, here I paste her answer

"Our Quartz Pro is a pretty new case. The reason why you can't find any review yet is because it was supposed to launch by the end of this month in Europe. There will be reviews available very soon. As soon as there will be reviews available we will add them to our website or post them on our social medias. If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to contact me again"

Right now in Europe you can buy it on Alternate web site, and they was selling it before I start this thread... very strange commercial strategy

Yeah aerocool is a little bit strange sometimes,The masstige i had of theirs only place in the usa that sold it back then was frozencpu,New egg and no where else had that case.Honestly I think that quartz pro should sell good in the usa depending price. Its a full tower its tempered glass on 2 sides a lot of options on water cooling which is big now.It has a 5 inch drive if people want that,And enough hard drive bays for people like us that want more then maybe 2 ssds in a pc.If they can hit the 150 to 180 dollar range that most in its class are priced it should sell.Only thing bad i ever seen from Aerocool was i had a power supply of theirs act up years ago.Since then i have stuck with antec back then today is corsair and not had bad luck out of one knock on wood.I would like to see more e-atx friendly cases on the market not 200 or more.I know its a big motherboard but threadripper is only that and some high end intels are that also now.

Yess!
It's the only one I see supporting up to 3 SSD and up to 4 HDD, disk drive and sell it with the fans RGB controller and software, on Alternate web shop it is sell at 167€, so I suppose in USD will be less than you suppose to be

The only characteristic I can not understand, like all the others, is that filter on the top.... extracting fans don't need a dust filter, it MUST be removed.
The dust doesn't have to go in, no to comes out....

I check it right now, after your suggestion
Seems to be a good case, but HDD/SSD slots a part, they speak about "cable management" and there is just a big hole to the bottom, close to the PSU.
There are no holes at all around the motherboard, like instead the Aerocool one, I think you can forward on the other side just the PSU cables, all the others will be all around inside the case

Hi guys, just got the Quartz Pro case in for review, watch this space
smile.gif

It is huge btw, bigger than I expected, the layout looks great, dare I say a quality offering?
Only thing missing so far is a psu area cover, may have to make my own

Hello mate! Good news! Yes, I saw the lower area is without a cover, but the other specs don't let me other choices: I prefer a missing cover than an HDD slot less

If you have to review it, please let me know when and where I'll be able to see, watch and read it! Thanks!!

The review will be going up on play3r once done, I am waiting for a new rad, tubes, pump and res to arrive to start the transfer of my system into the case.
There is room for a perspex or metal cover over the full length at the bottom (possibly up to 5mm thick too need to measure it) the only downside covering up is that you would have to move it to change drives in the bottom cages, which wouldn't worry me too much.

The supplied equipment is great, you get a functioning RGB controller with software to download for it, separate RGB and power connectors on the fans. It is quite impressive, lots of case for your money.

Once I have built in it, I will be able to give it a fair review and that will be published by the editors, (fingers crossed for the build to happen this weekend)

Yess, by the HDD management fortunately I don't have to add or remove the drives so often, also when I have to clean, I use a portable air compressor (3 bar max) without remove the internal components, so an hand made cover will not be a bad idea in my case.

Yes, there is a controller included, also if I would to try with the motherboard integrated one first (I have an ASUS Z270-A)

I'm so sorry to don't have the opportunity to watch you while unboxing and assembly...

Don't worry there are pictures of the uboxing ready for the article, I may try to incorporate plastic peeling videos you get three big peels out of it , so satisfying
smile.gif

My mobo is quite old now an X99S sli plus , so I will have to rely on the controller.

Very good mobo anyway, I changed from a Z77 to a Z270 one thinking to get a PC fastest than a lighting strike and I was completely wrong. So, your mobo is not so old as you think

Came here because thats is the only reference that i find about this case and i am glad that finally will be a review about this case.

I was inclined between this Aerocool case and NZXT H700i but that cable shroud in the NZXT really bothers me off.

Made a contact through facebook page of Aerocool and they told that will be only 3 units of this case to sale here in Brazil in January

Hello Fumero, tks for your opinion.
I had a look also to NZXT cases and the one you mention seems to be very good with 2 exceptions:
1. The cable management seems perfect in the video, but in the reality the cables of our system will be very problematic or impossible to seat them over there (as you already stated)
2. In a chassis like that is absolutely unbelievable to have 7 places to store 2,5" drives and just 2+1 of 3,5" ones.
2+1, is it a joke?
mad.gif

Anyway, I'm completely irritated about the news Aerocool gave to you for this model, in your country, I hope you'll find the right way to get it, just in case
