Following in Ubisoft's footsteps, Electronic Arts has confirmed that upcoming games from the publisher will include the very controversial "always on" DRM scheme that forces gamers to be connected to the Internet at all times or lose the ability to play their games.

Hope it's not a repost.

If I don't buy the game, then there's no problem.

Well, at least this happened after they released Bad Company 2.

...Wait, crap, does this mean that Battlefield 3 will have...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O

(Or am I confusing publishers with the developers again?)

Considering they just stripped BC2 of it's DRM I don't think this will stay.

They just need to fix BC2 completely, I'm getting tired of the game closing between rounds. Plus the random glitches thro the maps, shooting invisible rocks pisses me off.

So EA is out because I refuse to suffer through this stupid DRM. Activision is out because, well, they're just evil.......looks like I'm not buying any new games in the future....

Great more games will fail because of this DRM crap. I feel bad for the people that dont have Internet and will buy a DRM game.

I hope they set record rates for piracy and then get sued.

Again.

edit: Even IF the steam versions are clean this is still 100% garbage.

It's interesting how hard the computer game industry is trying to kill itself. EA backed off of their old annoying DRM policy due to pressure, but now they're going for this instead?
