So i was looking around and found only one that listed the 7970 and its $160 for an air cooler.

Im just looking for a better cooler so i dont go deaf from the stock fan on it. i have no temp problems even with my OC at 1125MHz core and 1400MHz mem (still working on it).

I just want a nice after market cooler that looks good and its quiet. i plan on replacing this to go to water cooling so id prefer to keep it cheap if possible.

You can also try the Gelid Icy Vision-A which doesn't seem as popular as the Arctic Accelero around here but it's cheaper, smaller, comes with loads of small heatsinks for VRM's and RAM and proper 3M thermal tape to stick them on with. I've read on this site that the thermal glue that comes with the Accelero can be a pain.

Running at 1300rpm off a motherboard header the fans are less noisy than my PSU and CPU fan so I'm very happy with it. The highest temps on GPU I've seen has been 55'C during gaming and VRMs stay under 70'C. (1100MHz, 1.15V, 7950)

Don't get the accelero unless you grab different glue as well. I've had 2 reference 7970's with them and the glue is total junk. VRAM sinks kinda stick but the surface of the VRMs is too small so it doesn't stick at all.

The Zalman Thermal Adhesive / Arctic Silver / Alumina adhesive is quick drying epoxy based glue which DOES actually stick...

The Gelid has my vote. Looks better, doesn't make the card 34cm long, has way better thermal tape / heatsinks. Core temps are a little higher then with the accelero but then again the difference between 68 and 74c on 1.300v is of almost no importance.

Alright,
thanks for the help guys. looks like im getting the gelid since i dont have the patience for thermal glue. lol. temps arent going to matter if thats as hot as its gonna get at max voltage. since im not going to bump voltage up much. mainly looking for noise reduction. stock fan woke up roomates when it hit 100%.

Im new to ati cards and gotta say with all the support on here, im loving this card.
