If you're going to stick with onboard then even that 620HX is overkill. Perhaps the 520HX if you want a high quality modular unit?

I'd get a cheap antec 500W PSU...

Absolutely agreed. The HX520 is a fabulous lower wattage PSU. Although it can run a couple of 8800GT's SLI'd with ease, if you ever decided to get back into gaming

youd prolly be able to get away with a good ~400watt psu if you go with onboard

Dude, what are you going to get for that PSU? Half of what you paid for it? Just keep it, and keep overclocking. No sense AT ALL in getting rid of it.

Unless you REALLY needed the money...which I doubt.

If you're willing to toss modularity you could even step down to Corsair's 400-450 watt models. Antec makes a good low-watt PSU as well as the Thermaltake 430W. I've used the latter a couple times for budget builds and never heard back with any problems.

EDIT: After reading the above post I looked at your sig rig. You have a freakin' PC P&P already! I don't know why but I assumed you were ditching a low-quality, high-power PSU for vice-versa. I mean it's a PC P&C! Silly OP

don't bother downgrading. it's better to have more than enough power and not use it, than too little power and not have it.

Unless you really need the $40 or $50 you'd get out of it... There is no point.

Even the Corsair 450 is going to run $70 which is probably close enough to what you'd get for the Silencer that it would be pointless. The only reason I could convince myself to do it was if I wanted modularity (going to cost you out of pocket at that point). That PC P&C has big, stiff cables.

I got it for $90cad (around ~70 usd). So ya it would basically be a straight trade for something crappier?
