From my previous thread I did end up getting the AKG's. And after experiencing that, I want more, lol. I have a place willing to sell me new in the package HD 439's for around $60. Anyone with both, or has used both, have any opinions? Or anyone in general have any opinions? My experience before the K240s were cheapo headsets, so my ears were virgin to even moderately good sound in a headphone/headset.

Ohh, and they will be used for pc gaming, music... probably a 70/30 mix or so.

Do you have any source of income where you can just save money? Or is 60 bucks it?

The reason I asked is because if you want more now, you are going to want more later. That is just the way it works. Instead of spending a little here and there on headphones, just save up and get yourself some better ones. Otherwise you are going to waste a ton of money like I did.

If you do not have any income, then get the superlux headphones.

I see. Well try this idea out instead. See if she won't let you spring for the Fostex T50-RP and a cheap xonar sound card with a built in headphone amp. If you search for good deals, it shouldn't cost you more than 120 bucks.

The nice though about it though is that there are so many mods out for those headphones that instead of spending more money on more headphones, you can just mod them for a couple bucks at a time.

Otherwise, get superlux.

I already have the AKG's (got them for $55ish). Suppose I can return them for the Fostex if they are worth it. And, as the first time I posted I forgot to mention that my sound card is a x-fi titanium hd. Also have a fiio e11.

Cool, they are orthodynamic drivers, so they are going to sound a bit weird at first, but as soon as you get used to them, I think you will be pretty happy. Then down the road, you can get some blue tack for a few bucks and have fun modding them.
