Am I massacaring my video cards because of this?

Well I'm worried since my second pci-e slot is only 4x that I'm going to kill my second gpu in terms of performance.

Would it be worth my time upgrading to say

for the increased performance?

Well yes the 4x slot will hurt the second card a bit, but it's been shown time and time again that it has very little performance effect.

If you want to get the motherboard go for it. It's a DFI which is much nicer then ASUS in my books.
well i tried comparing my card on PCI x1 and x16... Played call of duty on 1 and i barely got 20fps.. with 16 i got 90-100 so there will be a difference between 4 and 16...
But arn't I throtteling the pci-e 2.0 card on my motherboard?

Haha nope.

Video cards don't even use all of the x16 PCI-E 1.1 bandwidth, they're not even starting to dip into 2.0 territory.

That 4x slot will hurt performance.
EDIT: Charts aren't working for me. Just look at the article.
