so asus website says this MB will work up to 1090t. but anybody tried 1100t with it?

also listed was 1035t and 1055t. but the only one still in production is 1045t. anybody tried this as well?

right now running a 9950BE 140w. can't oc it at all. but just planning on running stock. it's already being used by my mom for word, excel and web browsing.

should have picked up a 1090t when it was still for sale. now seems like everybody is holding it and not buying the bulldozer. i like thuban, sounds better.

i personally doubt that any of those cpu's will work, becouse the socket of those cpu's is am3, you have a am2+ mobo, dont know how the am2+ thing exactly works but am2+ is not am3 so i think the other cpu's dont even fit in that mobo, i dont know if what i'm saying is actually right, i think it is

i have the thuban 1100t, its the best cpu i could wish for and i love it very much, so i definitely reccomend the thuban 1100t

actually am3 works in am2 even. 2+ is fully supported. however 3+ is not supported 2+ and before.

yeah. if i knew it will be discontinued i would pick up one for sure. guess they did that to sell the bulldozer.

i'll just stick with buying 1090t. keep getting outbid. when it was on sale it wasn't this hot now it's discontinued it is super hot. sucks.

but if you're sure about evrything go for it man, cant believe they are stopping all the phenom ii series, the 1100t that i have performs better then the bulldozer 8 core! (i must say that this is based on evrything i have read so far on the internet) but... the bulldozer does overclock way better then 1100t, i got mine on 4ghz, trying to reach 4,25 ghz. the bulldozer on the other hand can handle 4,8 ghz with ease.

I already experienced the night and day difference moving from 9950 to 3930k at 405g lol.
It's like the time I got a 1ds mark iii then got a 1d and 1d2n after. Am I weird or what hehehe.
Once I get 1090t or so ill write back. Thanks guys.

I think now processors are all pretty fast with ssd in system. Anything higher than 3930k our eye won't be fast enough to tell the difference.

There's no reason that an 1100T shouldn't work in a board that will accept a 1090T, except for one thing--there's probably no support in the BIOS for it. It looks they added support for a handful of X6 models in one of the very last BIOS revisions and then were done with it. An 1100T might work, or it might not. Don't count on it ever being officially supported. They haven't posted a BIOS update since February of 2011, and no update to the CPU table since July 2010.

Even if I knew it would work, I don't know if I would buy a $200 Thuban and install it into a board that is so ancient that it was designed back in the days of the original Phenom. Anyway, if the thing is being used by your mom and it's not doing anything more than what you say, it doesn't need an upgrade at all. As much of a dog as a 9950 is, it's plenty fast enough for that. Heck, I'm setting up an old Sempron 3100+ (S754) for someone to use as a Word/Internet machine. That dinosaur is fast enough for that!

i think it's not that bad to put that cpu in this mb. only thing is ddr running 1066 compared to 1600. i heard it's not that much faster. so most of the speed will be there.

i can sell the 9950 for 50 bucks. i put that on cragislist and i am suprised many people want it. weird. maybe like me bidding on a 9500 for my am2 hp computer.

That's fair. A few months back, I sold a Q6600 on eBay for a friend and got about that much. Your 9950 is faster than a Q6600. On an old AM2 system, the 9950 can be an upgrade.

ok. so got my 1090t today. paid 180 bucks. guy said never oc'ed.

put it in and runs fine. yeah it's much faster than 9950 but not as fast as 3930k. still a big gain though

WEI increased , cpu 7.1 to 7.5, memory 7.3 to 7.5, disk from 6.9 to 7.2 (lol). gpu same 7.0 for 9800gtx+. so everything is in the 7s. not bad.

voltage is strange so is this right? i thought they are like around 1.4v. 1.552 sometimes. before the 9950 idle at 1.0 something and goes up to 1.4.

idle 1.376v 1.6ghz. goes to 3.6 sometimes.

finally can put the corsair a70 back. temperature is 27 idle and haven't see more than 40 yet when folding.

not oc yet will do it today. that's why i buy it. just to oc. getting addictive to it now.402

You need to dial that CPU Vcore down a LOT.

Try starting @ 1.350v.
