If so, is it worht it to get an fx-55 instead of the fx-53?

Edit: is it also good for overclocking?

AMD is the king of gaming, hands down.

As far as fx-55/fx-53... As pcnerd said, get the fx-53 and save some money. Your one short hop away from fx-55 speeds.

Better yet, get a 4000+ which also has 1mb L2 cache and uses the new Sledgehammer core
Save an extra $50 or so bucks.

Go with the A64, any one that you choose will be a great gaming chip.

As far as cooling, look at going with a Thermalright XP-90 / XP-120 for around $50 including fan.

Edit: Yes the FX is AMD's top of the line A64.

Well ur name is madgamer. So I guess you want a god gaming computer..

Definatley get an AMD processor.

I suggest (just like *******) you get the 4000+ with the sledgehammer core. Its different, but you save money for somthing you can overclock to a FX-53 anyway. So... just go with the 4000+. I guess it dosen't "Sound" as good as it would the FX-53, or FX-55. But. If your going for gaming performance, get the 4000+. DEFINATLEY. do not get intel for gaming. only for workspace stuff.

Go there. You can get it for a good price, make sure that you get the Panaflo Medium output for low noise, and panaflo high output for better performance but higher noises.
