AMD build - $3000

Ok a guy in my math class wants to build his dream computer before he goes to college. He has an XPS right now, and says he wants in his new build: AMD FX, 7800gtx (sli I suppose), and whatnot. I think he should go for phase change.

I'm keeping my thoughts together here.

~$900 Phase Change (Mach II GT > Vapochill LS, right?)
??? Case to accomodate the Mach II GT (Not the Vapo)
Opteron, 2 7800gt's to save on cash...I'll fill it in later.

If you have any good suggestions...feel free...that's why I posted.
EDIT: In case you don't catch the title, it IS around $3000, but I don't think we'll need more than 2000 or 2500...

Tell him to wait till Direct X 10 comes out it will be so worth the money......or if he needs it sooner then 150GB 10,000RPM raptor is awsome for him...just go for one 7800GTX 512MB and no phase change if he inst going to overclock it....
Get a lian li canse, the silent case onces they are AWSOME/ or a lian li server case, you could prolly fitt all of the water cooling/phase changein it if you decide for it, get Asus A8n SLi deluxe.....fx 57 or 60 and OCZ GOLD DDR RAM
Sound Blaster X-fi Fatl1ty, 5.1 Klipsch Speakers, 30" Dell or Another company LCD, MX518, G15 keyboard, and GAMES!

He has $3000. Get a X2-4800+. two 512mb gtxs in SLI, 2 wd rapotors, case of his choice, sound blaster X-FI Fatal1ty or whatever the best one is, a good 600w (about) psu, and the DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR ATX AMD Motherboard and some awesome kick ass ram
