Got my newegg.com package the other day and what the hell I overclocked my Gigabyte E350 fusion.

igvp6d.jpg

Sorta have a hangover from last night but I will post more stuff soon.

Temps: hovering around 39c to 45c at this overclock, also the GPU went from 500mhz to 650mhz.

having random crashes, still trying to tweak one thing at a time to figure out what the hell is going on.

update already: system crashed when I was writing this, so I put the almost everything back to stock besides the FSB

I highly doubt there are other people interested on doing this too so good thing I have all day off to test alround and find the right overclock for me.

system specs
Gigabyte e350 w/USB 3.0 Sata 6
AMD e350 Fusion w/ 6310 graphics
500gb Sata 6
Gskill 4gb 1333mhz ram 888-21
windows 7 ulimate

UPDATE:
3dmark03 scores, thinking back I really wish I would have gotten the 8gb of ram, its all good though
CPU 1.75Ghz, GPU/ 650mhz with 512mb ram allocated.

I found this interesting,

Another Update:
I got the CPU to 1.92Ghz, in the Bios it will only let me choose a FSB speed from 100-120. with a 16x multiplier I maxed it out. Maybe solved my system stalling, here it was NOD32 causing my OS to freeze, I hope. After I run more tests I am going to touch the GPU more, once again its at 650Mhz (stock - 500Mhz). This time I allocated 1Gb of ram.
What I want
CPU @ 1.9Ghz
GPU @ 750Mhz
Figure out how much allocated ram for GPU will be good, 3Gb for system, 1gb for GPU.

UPDATE: NOD32 wasnt the problem, raised V-core from 1.3w to 1.35w. Temps increased to 60c hot but good. Testing stability again.

Meh, I'm through with underpowered systems. Zacate's still like 3-4x slower than an Athlon II X2. I get 1 fps on my go-to HTPC test video: Netflix 720p 3800kbps Legend of the Seeker Season 1 Episode 1.

Waiting for Llano for an inexpensive, low-power but fully capable HTPC. It should even do 3D.

Who cares aobut it being underpowered lol? It's just the epeen of having overclocked such a low power thingy

Another update, notice the CPU speed? I think I am happy where its at, Voltage is 1.160. temps have been pretty well. no proof but last time I did 3dmark03 I got 7450 points.

That is so awesome. How much faster is it compared to stock? And wow, only 0.06v increase for 845 mhz increase

That is crazy. Maybe I will get one of those...nah. Although it is somewhat tempting. Have you tried reapplying thermal grease for lower temps?

not yet, laugh but I when they come out with aftermarket heatsinks I will be first to get one lol.

Performance wise its still slow, had to loosen my rams timing for the OC though

EDIT: BTW I been away from the OC scene since back in the Athlon 64 days, so this is still new to me. The only reason I am OC'ing and tweaking is for fun and to replace my aging Sony Vaio Laptop. Bio's Shots eventually. updating my sig rig =)

I guess the spacing of the holes around the socket wouldn't allow you replace the heatsink bracket with one of the venerable AM2 brackets?

I'm bummed that my Sapphire and ASRock models have no OC options for either the CPU or GPU
frown.gif
If you plan on running a video card, turn OFF the IGP completely (don't leave it to auto), as it reeeally frees up memory performance! It's not the UMA allocation either. At least, I'm assuming it's the IGP being off as to why this Sapphire has such better memory performance. The IGP is bad on this thing, or it's a bad video BIOS (review samples aren't warrantied sadly) so I just have to use a video card and set the BIOS to "off". WIth 2x1GB SODIMMs at 7-7-7-24 1066 my MaxxMem copy is 5100mb/s vs the ASRock with 2x2gb DIMM at 6-6-6-19 1333 I've got a max of 4200mb/s :\ I've even tried 2x1GB in this thing and it doesn't do the trick either. So, dunno
frown.gif

I don't understand though, how you're running 2.2GHz on 1.16v when both of my boards show a CPU Vcore of 1.3V (load) in both CPU-Z (latest release) and AIDA64???

You should push your IGP higher though. Neoseeker pulled off an effing INSANE overclock of 2000MHz on their Gigabyte's IGP O_O Stable too, and only needed a small bump in voltage. Wonder if an HD5450 with a fully unlocked BIOS could manage those speeds too haha

Shame AMIBCP can't load these UEFI BIOSes, I'd try to rip the module responsible for overclocking and insert it in the ASRock's lol

Anyways, good job! I'm jealous

A buddy has a dual Interlagos rig and they run 4.3GHz on air w/o any problem, which I think both of your overclocks show the 'Dozer/Bobcat's potential! I'm excited for AM3+ 'Dozer cores, but would easily buy an E350 AM3 had they made one haha Don't care if the IGP would be useless, I just like overclocking underpowered crap
biggrin.gif
(Got an AII X2 250u 1.6Ghz up to 2.9GHz weeee)

I guess I haven't messed with mine enough... Can't get it to overclock anywhere near that high. Maybe there is some setting I need to disable in relation to the PCI-E slot or something that it hindering the overclocking ability..

I can't even find a way to overclock the GPU seperately.

Most boards won't get around 103-110MHz, as like Sandy Bridge, everything runs off the same baseclock. Also everything is running off a main reference clock of 100MHZ, so his HTT clock speed (from his other thread with it running @ 3.6GHz) is actually 452MHz:eek: I think his is just a great example of when everything in the chip is made PERFECTLY lol But given that HTT factoid, for his 3.6GHz run, I'd have to see a CPUz shot. While likely not the case, I've had EasyTuner miss-report readings before :\

Going to "Two Birds with One Stone" this...

From: here, page 14.
Future AMD Opteron processors

In 2011, AMD plans to introduce its first 32-nm processor (AMD Opteron 6200 Series) based on a new microarchitecture codenamed "Bulldozer." The Bulldozer microarchitecture doubles the integer resources (schedulers and d-caches) to enable per-core multithreading so that a single Bulldozer core appears as two cores to the OS. The AMD Opteron 6200 Series processors, codenamed "Interlagos," will have 12 and 16 cores and will be designed for two- and four-socket servers. The processors will use high-k metal gate technology, which runs cooler compared to existing process technologies.

He's a deparment Lead at M$, so he has "teh koneck-shuns"
frown.gif
His systems are constantly insane. His Socket-F had 64GB and he'd run games in a RAM drive lol Before M$ he was writing drivers @ nVidia and so still having contacts, he upgraded to dual pre-production GTX480s. He had just recently (around christmas) got a dual-G34 with Magnys 12C, and upgraded to dual 580s >_< Needless to say, I really hate him
biggrin.gif

I wouldn't doubt it any if AMD has had 'Dozer in limited production since the start of the year, only sending samples out to it's big vendors for real-world stress testing to work out any final bugs. Since they drop into G34/C32 sockets, no further development is needed for a chipset, but board manufacturers need samples too for BIOS development I'd think.

Anywho, not saying that is reason to take my word for it, but trust me... even I'm a lil skeptical at that awesomeness lol

I wish at least CPU-Tweaker would work with the damn APUs, so I could at least futz with memory timings!

Hi, i'm a new member of this forum... :) so, i've a question.... i have the same mobo (e350n-usb3), i've tried to oc and my best results was 1,9ghz @ 119x16. so, how do you have take the 2445 mhz with over 150mhz on the bus? have you use some software? sorry for my poor english..... i hope to see a answer next time..... thank a lot, gioy86

Some goto video when Silverlight doesn't offer hardware acceleration. That said the latest beta is better and you shouldn't have any problems with 720p Silverlight streaming from Netflix.

Too much time spent playing Black Ops and not reading AVS forums.
