I am on my brother's computer with an 890GX chipset and a Samsung Syncmaster BX 2331 (1080p). I am trying to plug in a Sharp Aquos LC-32GA5u TV. The TV is quite old, but it has 2 HDMI inputs and runs on 720p or 1080i resolution.

The Syncmaster is plugged into the DVI output of the motherboard, but the cable is actually an HDMI plug on the end that goes into the Syncmaster monitor. The Sharp TV is using the HDMI output of the motherboard, with an HDMI input to the TV.

When I plug in the TV (monitor is plugged in), everything goes blank. I can not get any signal with both devices plugged in. I have to restart to get signal on the TV, and when I unplug the TV, the Syncmaster comes back on.

With the Sharp unplugged so I can actually see something, Windows and the AMD Catalyst control center show both monitors available. But I cannot make both run at the same time. How can I do this? I want the screen to be mirrored onto the 720p Sharp TV so my nephew can watch movies from the PC.

I will also need audio through the HDMI cable to the TV.

I am VERY frustrated with these drivers!

Your intergrated graphics don't support both dvi - hdmi at the same time. It should however support both a vga and a digital connect. Either change one to an analog connection or consider getting a dedicated card.
