Ok, so from what I've read, Intel owns the 1066 MHz & 1333 MHz platform Boards, and AMD has to buy those platforms from Intel, essentially.

My questions I suppose is about AMD's Motherboard limitations, considering I was reading about the Asus M4A78T-E which RAM is DDR3 1066 (max), therefore, is there really a limitation as to how high the processor can reach based upon the MAX ram a motherboard can handle?

And if so, wouldn't that put AMD far behind Intel which has the 1333 Platform, which uses Core i series chips which do not use a front side bus?

I'm just asking for clarification, not wanting to start any wars / trolls here..

The board can only support 1066 since the cpu can't officially go higher, it is that low so that the early chips could run in spec.
