I just installed the r9-290 in a desktop that has been running a HD7850 for ages and am having issues. I did a clean install of Windows 10 in order to make sure there are no driver issues. However, as soon as I install the new AMD CCC with drivers my monitor gets no signal. I have confirmed that the system is still running using teamviewer.

Specs:

AMD FX-8320
Asus Sabertooth 990fx r2.0
Kingston Ram 16GB
Cooler Master 1000W PSU
Mushkin 120GB SSD

I'm at a loss as I have tried older drivers and the issue is still the same. I am using the HDMI port for display output. I have not had the chance to check one of the other ports due to the fact that I do not have cables. Will be trying those soon but it seems to be a driver issue as it still displays fine in safe mode.

Any recommendations?

Is it used? If it is, then it might be a good candidate for a bios flash. There are a couple of threads dealing with flashing the bios with even 390 (X) bios and might resolve the issue of BS. Might even get better performance.
