I just got a AMD Radeon HD 7870 XT W/Boost installed fine and everything only problem is the screen resolution can't go past 1680x1050 in both catalyst control center and windows desktop resolution settings. I have a brand new asus 27 inch 1080p led monitor if you could please help it would be greatly appreciated and I will +rep you im not the best with computers so I may be doing something wrong plz help!

so your resolution is not going up to the high res you may have to go into the hdtv section in the Catalyst and choose a 1080 setting that is where the issue is mos tlikly go into the
first open CCC and click on My HDTV flat panel and then in the window scrool down and find HDTV support
Click in that and there is settings in there you can change

You may have to add a 1080P 60 hz NTSC mode click on that and then from there a pop up will come up and click yes

then click apply and it should add some display options in the bottom you will see some modes that pop up and 1920x1080 standart should be in there

What version of Catalyst drivers are you running? Make sure you are running the latest.
Installing monitor drivers can sometimes fix such issues.
Have you tried a different display cable?

i know tech can confuse a guy fast but it is most likly the monitor is not reporting all the reported display res that it can do happend on my LG 23 inch lol
