why didnt amd make an x2 4000+ it would be a 2 ghz 1mb l2 cache and it would be sweet, and alos why didnt amd make a socket 939 3400+ 2 ghz 1mb l2 cache

They did make a Sandy 3500+ for peeps like Copmpaq/HP, etc... but it only has 512 cache
kind of a stupid config... same as a 3500 Venice!
On the 4000+ config you suggested... it would KILL the sales on the 4400+ and end up costing them money

It'd be nice if they made a lower end X2... the X2 3800+ isn't insanely expensive, but $300 is still quite a chunk of change. Something to compete with the low end Pentium D would be sweet. (And right in my price range)

They did infact wanted to make the X2 4000+ with 1MB Cache, but as The Duke said, it would cost them too much $
