Sure, and sorry but I could not test 1.93.0 development branch as I could not find an ebuild (gentoo package system) for it.

Can you provide a link to the ebuild package ?
I would like to see if we can just substitute the source URL with the development one.

I reused this one to install 1.92.4 828443 – sys-apps/corefreq monitoring CPU frequency, C-states thermals and voltages (New Package)

I could modify the ebuild so that it builds from git develop branch :)



Shows no voltage though.

EDIT - I found that turning up the SOC voltage to 1.35v (default 1.25v) solved this problem. Suggesting that my PC is not stable by default, with 2000 MHz infinity fabric set.

I've set the VDD and VDDG at 1.35v also, for now.

My mobo sets 1.35V soc by default when loading the expo profile 6000 32-38-38-96. I lowered it to 1.2V and seems to be stable so far. It may depend on the silicon as always I guess.

Does EXPO mean you can reprogram some data in their EEPROM ?

Anyone else had a recent bios update that has like notes like below?

TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI BIOS 0821
"1. Update AGESA version to ComboAM5PI 1.0.0.3 patch A + D
2. Improve DRAM compatibility
3. Improve system performance

Normally see the temp fly to the moon to 80c+ even in cinebench but after I updated the bios, I only just noticed how much better the temps are?

I can increase my infinity fabric to 2133 Mhz, but only if I set my SOC voltage to 1.4v (tested for 4 hours in AIDA64 benchmark).

1.35v is enough to keep the default 2000 Mhz IF stable.

Is 1.4v too high? How would I even know if this setting is too high? The VDDCR_SOC voltage is reported to be ~1.38v in Windows.

I notice that one of the 'VR Loop' sensors in HWINFO64 (Voltage regulator on the MB) reports a temperature of 61 Celsius, which is a few degrees higher than it would usually be, but it could just be because it has been under load for hours.

I haven't tried to set a PBO temperature limit yet, which I usually set to 85 Celsius.

I think I remember setting it over 1.4v once (as a test), and weird stuff happened in Windows 11.

EDIT - Igor's lab suggests that upto 1.4v is 'still in the safe range according to several sources'. He appears to have tested with this setting here:

Still seem to be getting occasional /rare test fails in AIDA64 with the IF set to 2133 Mhz, so in my case it isn't worth it.

The irritating thing, is that it might still be the memory timings causing this instability, there's no way to know.

Found a neat trick not sure if it was used in previous gen Zen CPU, but it will improve multi-score pretty good if you use PBO.

Originally limited my temp to 85c in the bios and did the PBO's setting from Optimum Tech video "Fixing Ryzen 7000 - PBO2 Tune (insanity)"

I was testing my CPU to optimise the PBO setting and realised setting the temp to '75c' in bios actually improved overall multi score.

If you think about it, once the CDD1 hits 75c, there is more power available then which is allocated to CDD2 which will make it clock higher, which would bring the overall average of your multiscore higher while having better temp as well. Obviously CDD1 clocks will be lower (not by much), but we're looking to achieve better multi-score overall.

Hope more people can test as my sample is really low and I only used Timespy CPU test to try it

I'm on latest bios, awating for a newer one with tREFI option for fine tuning RAM, already contacted MSI support asking for it.

Is there anything to suggest that running Zen 4 CPUs with 1.4v SOC voltage is actually bad for the endurance of the CPU?

I've been using this setting for days now, and it appears to be stable.
