While my name isn't on the extreme overclockers page, I'm folding for OCN. I downloaded and installed the gpu2 to run my 285 while I tinker around the forums. I'm also running the PS3 [email protected] right now.

my question is basically this...

I'm running 1000-2000 iter/sec on the 285. How much will this yield?

also, what clocks will help crunch everything a bit faster? mem/shader/core?

You'll want to get the console client instead of the tray client. Much nicer.

Shaders are the only thing that matters to folding.

285 should be netting 8-10k PPD as far as I know.

Can use the tray client just fine, if folks don't watch the protein graphic. It's stable, and also adds all the necessary startup folders (even in Vista).

okay, so the tray is all good so long as I don't sit here and watch the animation. No worries there..

I've upped the shaders on my 285 and it's running smoothly... believe me, I welcome any tips/tricks that you guys are willing to share.

alright, so I have FahMon installed and it sees the folding that I'm doing on the 920, but I can't get it to pick up either the GPU2 folding on my 285 or what I'm doing on my PS3 as well.

any ideas?

HI and WELCOME to the Fold

BTW, with the [email protected], it takes a bit of time for it to realize a reasonable PPD and may under report at first.

thanks a bunch..

finally, after a day or so of going at it, fahmon is reporting 3000ppd for my i7 on smp and another 6800 on my 285... are there tweaks that I can push on the card to get it any higher than that?

how often do the sites update? I've noticed differences in what I'm seeing on eoc versus the folding.stanford site..

All the other sites get their stats from Stanford, as it is the master list.

Also, IIRC, adding the - smp8 flag helps the i7 fold better. Not absolutely sure though.

I wish I had the slightest idea what that meant...

run the FAH with -smp8 tagged on it?
