Hello, All, and good day.

So here is what is going on.

I have used 5 different mining programs trying to find one that fits my over all issue with my rig.

Mutliminer (Crashes / Windows Errors / Hard Hangs.. issues..)
GUI Miner (Hate it / Crap / ***** / Blows)
SGMiner (No sick command line)
CGMiner (No sick command line)

My Favorite
BFGMiner (Doesn't give good hash rate display, but has sick line commands )

I'm using Updated VGA BIOS and SCRYPT.CL files to help hash rate. I get about 730-740 with current settings. Also using BETA CCC, with most up to date APP-SDK.

I have Benched both cards by them self, and together Cross Fired and Not Cross Fired with Heaven for 24 hours with no errors or freeze, On Stock settings and My Mining Settings.

Now, My rig can NOT hold stable for more than 2 hours.. (Sick Card or Dead Card) 80% of the time it reboots with in 45min.
At intensity 12 it can last about 6 hours before it dies and reboots. Now, 12 isn't bad but, it isn't what I'm looking for so slow for what I paid for, and what I know it can do.

Both cards are on USB risers with temps of 67c

Now, Here is my settings

My BAT File.
bfgminer --config bfgminer.conf --disable-rejecting --cmd-idle "shutdown /r" --cmd-sick "shutdown /r" --cmd-dead "shutdown /r"

My CONF File

ccc 13.12 ONLY no beta junk
use this cgminer its a custom build

the highest listed 290x i've seen does -I 20 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 32765

another app you can use that has a massive amount of features is CGWatcher-1.3.5
intensity changes in cgwatcher are applied instantly without having to stop the miner and start again.

Doesn't help uptime, but is very nice. I did go back to current ver of CCC, didn't make any changes to out come. It seems that it is always the 2nd card failing. The main card (display) doesn't fail half as much as the other. Also, it HW errors after awhile. Today I left it to run while I was at work and came home and again it had failed on -I 12. and CGwather did nothing about it cause hash rate was like 123MHz witch happens.. lame.. Still looking for ideas..

Thinking I may start over. Stock everything. BIOS, OS, Drivers.. a complete reformat.

i'd try to cut out some of the extra commands and see if running just this modded cgminer works for you

-I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192 <-- only these flags

also i'd duplicate the folder for cgminer and run the other card off its own folder with same settings in it.
i've seen people that have had issues before saying that doing that has helped them, and a few others that said their hash has gone up doing that.

then keep your overclock to something like trixx or afterburner
if you removed your drivers or plan on it use
in safe mode to make sure everything is removed.
then install via normal desktop
hash like a mad man

So... I Uninstall all drivers, Reinstall Drivers, Used modded CG, back to Stock BIOS ran a CG for each card and the 2nd card still failed with in 5mins. twice in a row.. ideas?

cgminer --scrypt --device 0 -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192
cgminer --scrypt --device 1 -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192

what power supply do you have?

swap the cards and see if the one that fails stops
swap pci risers and see if the problem is the riser
try without risers and see if problem persists
try one card in at a time w/ and w/o risers
and last thing is if the same card continually fails try it in another computer by its lonesome and see if the same issue still happens.

i've personally had problems with risers where my pc wouldnt display or work and then on reboot dont..
when i have enough money to get a second card i'm going with pcie 1x to usb to pcie 16x, because my risers are just too finicky.

also i dont see anything listed about if the risers are powered, info?

I when and got a cheap ATI card and put it in my tower. Now I have a display card. I did a format and reinstalled win8.1.

Windows install 7900 drivers for my 280x. So I left it. I did not install anything else. No APP SDK or VGA drivers from ATI. Only what windows installed. Started up Watcher and added CG, and made a simple config selecting the 2x 7900 (280x). Turned on the miner and done.

engine 1050
intensity 13

that's it.
it picked TC 10240 and work 256 and it burning thru at 1.45Mh/s ~730Kh/s per card.
no issues yet. I guess we will see.
