A while back I had to make the choice of getting a PSU and I settled for a Antec True Power II 550W. Just yesterday it started crapping on me so instead of letting it taking other parts with it (I hope not actually) I decided to get a replacement with newegg.
I talked with a newegg rep and they let me trade up for a different model withou the 15% restocking fee so I am going to get another brand for maybe a little more.

Heres what I got so help me choose.
PSU needs to be 500W+, modular or at least sleeved, dual 12v+ rails or more and obviously solid.

I want under $90 this time (tax+ shipping will make it over $100 anyways) heres what I got:

Muskin 550W, has 2x12v+ rails at 20A each and its modular. Have heard nothing but good reviews. Was going to be my pick but I though I should hear input.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817812002

Sunbeam NUUO 550W, classic one here at oc.net, I noticed two models not sure whats the difference. Once again this one seems pretty good but I've heard bad things about the 5v+ rail.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817709004

Finally the Hiper 520W, always liked hiper but the 580W models are out of my budget this time, modular like all the others and seems just as good as its more powerfull counterpart.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817128006

What should I choose now? One of these 3 or another suggestion?

Note that the PSU will need to power my sig rig at an overclocked state.

Thanks

For a P4, nothing is better than a PSU with a single RAIL: OCZ PowerStream 520W or something as good as, the PCP&C ULTRA-QUIET PSU: SILENCER® 470 ATX

Other than that? I don't see any other choice.

I've heard some not-great things about the lower end Mushkin, though the 680W is great. Also, the 580W Hiper is a bit weak, so I can't imagine the 520W would any better.

My vote goes to the NUUO. I love mine.

If those three.... I'd say the NUUO.... Although the efficiency is a bit low, it's a decent PSU.

The Hiper is simply too weak indeed. (even the 580W version has only 30A on the 12V rails)

How about this Silverstone:
SILVERSTONE SST-ST50EF ATX12V 500W $87.50

Specs here: http://www.silverstonetek.com/products-50ef.htm
35A max load on the 12V rail. Should be enough.

Nuuo again seems praised but Nasgul why are you saying a single rail PSU would be better for my setup?
Even if where to get a dual core CPU later?

P4s tend to be more stable with a single strong rail than multiple rails, especially when overclocking.

I revised my post while you posted... and yes, I do think 30A max load on the 12V rails for a 580W rated unit is pathetic. I know 450W rated units that deliver close to that.

Personally, I am not in the NUUO camp. Efficiency is low, there are a couple members here who had theirs fail, and you can get better current on the 12V rails than the 32A delivered by the NUUO.

I share Nasgul's preference for single rail PSUs, but they're hard to find for your budget. Knowing Silverstone, they make good PSUs, and I think the one I linked will serve you well.

There is a reason why single rail PSUs are re-occuring (most notably PC Power & Cooling, but also a good 560W unit by silverstone, and several OCZ units).

For $75? Sure, it's no Silencer or GameXstream, but I think it's great for the price.

Did you check out that Silverstone?

In your price range, you likely stuck with multiple rails...

the only single rail PSU in that range that is decent quality is the 520W OCZ Modstream, but... 26A 12V rail spoils it for me.

Nasgul has the right idea with the PCP&C Silencer 470. That thing has more amps on the 12v rail than a lot of so-called 500+ watt PSUs out there.

26A? A little low for my taste. The NUUO has 30A, and the Silverstone delivers 35A.

Having that said, the Silencer is without any doubt the best quality of the bunch, and will likely deliver those 26A and then some.

PCP&C have always been the undisputed kings of conservative rating. 26A is probably the theoretical minimum from a Silencer 470 built on a Monday after a weekend bender and coke binge.

Both are good.. the Silverstone I agree with of course, since I linked it before.

The enermax is a nice one also.

Witchfire: agreed... that's why I said... 26A and then some
