Another problem, is it the gpu now (gtx260 sp216) ?

Okay, so i have c3d gtx260 sp 216, sometimes my monitor will just shut down itself and will show a orange light (tried with 2 monitors so far, same has happened) this doesn't happen often, but sometimes.

Also in some games that i get crashes with (Mass effect i get error "nvd3dum.dll" and in sacred "d3d9.dll" also, this doesn't happen that often but it's annonying)

This is pointing towards the card ... i guess? And, yes. I have the latest 182.08 driver.

And i guess you'd ask this, psu = Corsair TX750.

EDIT: oops, move this to somewhere else. guess this is wrong section

So your monitor will just turn off and your computer wont crash? Are you using vista or XP? Try using ati tool to stress test your gpu and if it crashes on stock than your video card is probably going. http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/ for stress testing.
Rivalshow, I can move your thread to the Nvidia section if you would like but if this is on a AMD rig then you can also post in here.

Is your rig currently overclocked? If so have you tested everything to make sure it's stable? You could always try running everything at stock to see if the problem reproduces itself during gaming. If the video card was overheating then you would probably experience these issues more often.

Let us know

Good luck

Updated the sig...a little.

Yeah it's AMD, so just keep it here...

So basicly, i get the message "No signal" sometimes, even when idling. It doesn't happen only when gaming, and this happens only like once a week.

And i haven't overclocked anything, also, i'm running the fan @ 80% while gaming, so it's not overheating problem (i get 60c something at full load)

Yep, system still running, and i have to reboot because of no signal on monitor.

Edit: BTW, I ran that AtiTool earlier today for ~2 hours, no errors, max temp 60C.

Rivalshow, whenever your screen goes to "No signal" have you attempted to hook up another display to it? Have you tried adjusting the refresh rate on both the display and video card settings?

Good lucl

Yep, I've tried it and still no signal (Also, both refresh rates are at standard 60hz.)

I got another crash today, "no signal" out of sudden, still all fans running, but monitor won't turn back on.

Btw, after that i tried to reset, i had to push it for more than one minute then it reseted (Weird...should reset instantly) and when it turned on i got message "POST didn't answer" or something like that, and had option to reset my bios settings or go to bios setup.

Hope you get what i mean

I had to disable VGA suspend with the latest WHQL drivers to get this to go away. Either roll back to an earlier driver or leave the monitor on (in windows control panel) all the time.
I had it set to 20 mins in control panel, guess turning off will fix this then ? Thanks !
Damn... Didn't fix a thing, i still get it =(

Today i got "no signal" four times, no chance but to hard reset.

I can hear my gpu fan go down as i get the "no signal" crash, because i have manually set it to 80%, guess it will reset the settings as soon as i get the crash, could it be motherboard then?

EDIT: Could undervolting the CPU cause crash, because my cpu is at 1.3v atm, also my motherboard in load is 46c is that too high ? =O
Sounds to me like a driver issue over hardware. Did you roll back to different driver like t_russel said, or just change power-save settings? Your mobo has onboard video, so if you wanted to you could test the monitor and your settings with that, only thing is it's ATI so you'd be using a different driver.

I also had some issues with the driver you are using, which isn't the most recent by the way. 182.50 is most recent as of 4/05. Video would freeze for a couple seconds, with that awful audio stick, then unfreeze.

My advice is update driver, if that doesn't work, roll back to whatever was before 182.08

Rivalshow, doesn't look like this has been suggested yet but have you tried testing with a completely different video card? Try a different PCIe slot (if another one is available). I would also try a PCI video card as well.

I went back to 181.22 drivers and seems like the problem is gone, it's weird that my friend doesn't have any of these problems with new driver but i've o_O

Anyway, thanks for your help.
Damn....

Guess that was too early to say again

I ran memtest86+ just to test my memory, there was no errors and the test was at 70% when i got the no signal "WHILE RUNNING THE TEST!"

So i guess, this is really a hardware problem?

Still sounds more like a driver problem to me...
Well, seems newer bios version has come out 0902.....hopefully it will fix it? =(

I got it updated now (Good thing i didn't get the no signal crash^^)

So you say it's driver problem? How come it crashes in memtest86+? while memtest is not run in windows?

Edit: Nvm, this motherboard doesnt have a speaker :d

Rivalshow, if you're getting lock ups during Memtest86+ then it's safe to say this is a non-related Windows issue. Just to note, I recommend running tests 5 and 8(memtest) for at least 20 minutes. I found those to be slightly more stressful then the default tests.

I'm sure this has been asked a million times but I can't recall...have you tried a completely different video card? How about a PCI video card? Perhaps maybe a buddy can lend you one for testing.

Good luck

I did a little googling and found guys with exactly the same problems:

http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?...&model=M3A78-T

No solution tho, too bad

I can run prime95 and furmark without any problems ;/ Damn, i wished it was a windows problem until it occured while running memtest86

I bet its the motherboard .... eee....

Rivalshow, see my last paragraph from my last post. It would be nice to know if the same issue reoccurs with a different video card on the same PCIe slot.

Good luck

EDIT: BTW, I've been thinking, i have 3 extension cords in my room because i have another comp, tv here ^^ so would that cause problems? I had a problem with my old comp not starting, but it started just fine in another room
