I'm having some trouble connecting to wireless networks. I can connect to my secured home network (AT&T 2WIRE Router) without a problem. There is an unsecured public network in my area, and I used to be able to connect to it, but now I cannot fully connect to it. It connects with "limited activity" not giving me internet access. I tried running the troubleshooter but it just connected me automatically to my home network and assumed the problem was fixed. Any ideas?

As always, thanks in advance.

Perhaps this adapter has a shorter range than your previous one?

It's the same laptop with the same adapter. I haven't connected to the public connection in awhile, I think since I installed Windows 7 and now when I try it's happening.

Perhaps the public wifi changed to a smaller range then?
