This is the first time I have ever modded a case! I'm sure it wont turn out the best, but it will get the job done.

Heres what my rig looked like when I first built it:

Current:

Plans:

-Cable Management Holes(DONE) Post #24 - Post #2
-Paint interior Matte Black(DONE) Post #3
-Window (DONE)Post # 11 Post # 18
-Paint front mesh(Not 100% sure on this, not sure of a color either.)
-Fan Grills Cut Out (DONE) Post #50
-Hole cut for PSU
-Stealthed DVD drive
-Custom Watercooling(Not 100% sure on this, if I do this it would all be in case. I would remove the HDD cage and mount the rad their.)
-Any other suggestion you have, if I like it, i'll do it!

Thanks for viewing my worklog.

Cable Management holes:

This was my first time ever using a Dremel, I didn't have re-enforced cutting disks either. I realize how terrible the holes look but you can't really see any of them except the bottom large one which turned out pretty well.

Painting:

It looks like I just used masking tape, but it is actually painters tape. This was also my first time spray painting so the result wasn't to perfect. It looks pretty darn good though! The case looks a lot better in person, trust me!

Ready to be primed

First coat of primer.

On to the black

Finished with painting, sanded and did a few more coats:

My motherboard finally came today, I was going to cut the fan grills but getting my rig back together was a lot of work so ill probably get around to it tomorrow. The whole reason I RMA'd the board was due to broken SATA ports. Believe it or not, one got broken on this new board when I was installing it. The design on these ports are horrible! Its a great board, but that is a big downfall for it.

I never had the Dark Knight before, just the stock intel cooler. This thing is impressive! It barely fits into the Antec 300 with push/pull setup.

These pictures are in no particular order, all just random. The paint always looks terrible in pictures, not bad in person.

New motherboard

Cleaned CPU (Going to start OCing soon, e8400 with E0 stepping.)

I used OCZ Freeze which I spread with a credit card.

Dark Knight mounted.

All together..

I really didn't think it was going to fit, it was a extremely tight squeeze. I had to remove the other 120mm on the cooler to make it fit.

As you can see these is not much room inbetween the top 140MM fan and the 120mm on the DK.

Awesome case mod so far mate.

That CCFL should look amazing with that window on the side

Love the color scheme. That's what I went with on my case

Can't wait to see the rest of it, and hopefully you can get completely finished with your list.

Make sure you file down those cuts if you haven't already. Some u-channel wouldn't hurt either.

Thank you very much! I can't wait to get the window finished, they are blinding me right now.

I should have it by tomorrow.

Aaaah yes most definitely do this if you haven't already. Uchannel is a godsend. You can usually pick it up at your local auto store or a Home Depot type place. It's fairly cheap, and it looks quite nice. Helps with hiding those nasty edges

Use a hand file and then place the uchannel, it'll look awesome and stop the wear on the PSU cables.

When I get the acrylic for the window i'm going to pick some up, I filed the edges so its not to bad right now. I'll make sure to save some of it for the cuts though!

What do you plan on holding your window on with?

I made my cut, put on some uchannel around it, slapped some Scotch 2M 4010 tape along the edge, and put down the window. It looks pretty nice

Window:

I was going to use U-channeling, but the cut is 100% perfect (Laser cut at a friends work) and I think it will look better without it. I haven't had a chance to get the acrylic yet but the window is cut.

All these pictures look horrible, I think my camera was on the wrong setting. I'll take some new ones in a bit.

Looks pretty good mate

Looking at the cut, I don't think that uchannel is necessary actually. Quite smooth...
Wait in the OP. It's LASER cut? Kickass!!!

Can't wait to see clearer pics

And I love the MW2 on the screen as well.

Yup! My friends dad has access to a laser cutter. It looks factory cut! I just started playing MW2 since I got my motherboard back, its pretty decent so far.

That window looks AMAZING!!! Now I'm going to start calling around to see if anyone I know has a laser cutter..

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I took a stab at OCing. I'm at 3.825Ghz with 1.344v. Does this sound high? My temps are about 45C load but when running OCCT, Windows 7 completely freezes before it completes. Should I use Prime95 to test instead? (I think I'll make a new thread about this.
)

Window (2):

So I got the acrylic today! I ended up using clear silicone to attach it. I know most people use tape but this is what I had available and it definitely gets the job done! To cut it I scored it multiple times with a razor then simply broke it off on a straight edge, worked perfect! Couldn't have got cleaner cuts.

My camera doesn't like these dark pictures. Later today I'm going to cut the fan grills and I will get out my tri-pod and see if that helps.

Thank you very much! The silicon just seemed like a good idea to me.
