Antec 900 Rust?

617 Views 7 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  cathode
Hello everyone

Just wondering if the Antec 900 is prone to rust after being washed in soapy water?

I'm preparing my case for painting so it's all sanded. Currently the hard drive bays are drying in the sun after being washed with warm soapy water to remove any dust particles still present.

Thanks for your time

Dont wash with soapy water. Use a lint-free cotton rag, dampened with mineral spirits or paint thinner to remove contaminates.
Technically Aluminium cant rust, your only concern would be the bolts if theyre made of something else. Though I wouldnt worry, should be fine.

Yeah it would rust if the water stays in the crevises of the case. I think the best thing to do would be to seperate the case as much as you can, wash it, then blow each part thoroughly with something really powerful like an air compressor.
...or use a non-aqueous solution to clean with like a solvent.
