I ordered the antec and got it installed on my new system. i5 2500k, ga p67.
Also bought a Cooler Master fan with h2o/air pressue of 3.94 or something like that. almost a 4 which was the highest i could find at micro center without having to order it.
Heres the big kicker.. the computer is fully stock at stock timings and clocks. The temps at idle are anywhere between 27-35. At load it peeks over 50. I think i caught it once at 51 or 52 with intel burn test at maximum (8 gigs ram).
I tried multiple configurations to try to get the temps lower but it just aint happening. Used stock fan solo. Added Cooler Master fan as pull because its stronger than the Antec fan. Tried the Cooler Master itself and its always the same temps. Also reseated the block a few times with variations in the paste. BB size, pea size, line.. makes no difference at all.
Right now i took out the Antec fan and using just the Cooler Master as "push" alone. Temps never change so i dont see a point in doing anything else unless I'm missing something.
Im debating whether to try to Delta fans, 120mm 5k rpm 250cfm fans @ $32 ea. kinda expensive.
I was also thinking maybe the pump isnt working as it should because I have a 4 pin header while the connector is a 3 pin. I set it in bios as disabled but i can;t tell a difference at all.
I was hoping that the new chip would be cooler than my old 8400 or e6300 with the xigmateks. Still have the e6400 overclocked to 3.4Ghz from 1.8 and that never broke 50 degrees (e8400 sold
). It idled in the hi teens to low 20s!
Am i missing something? Did i screw something up? Maybe its my mobo or processor because im also getting other aggravating problems now. Started getting a boot loop while just trying to access bios without any clock changes.
Let me know what you guys think because right now it seems as if the all in one sealed water cooling kits are just nothing but hype and bought out reviews.
