So, in a freak accident, I decided that it would be a good thing if I ripped out the two usb ports on the front of my Lanboy. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to replace those ports.

When you say "ripped out", did you break any of the tabs or retainers, or whatever held the ports in place.

And what would be the criteria to qualify this action as "a good idea"?

I've heard duct-tape does it all...

JK... post a pic or two of the damage.

So both of the white tabs broke off of the port and also, the middle metal piece came out as well.

Is that "middle piece" part of the phusical interface, or is it part of the retaining mechanism. Also, it looks like the piece is aluminum/aluminium...

Super glue and a steady hand ought to re-attach the plastic parts. but metals?.... not sure.

Does the port itself function? If so you might just run it "backwards" through the opening and simply have it hanging from the hole....not very ellegant, but functional.

I'm going to try to super glue it back together. The port still works, its just that there is nothing to hold a cable in place right now so the connection is alway lost.
