Just got this from a friend hes got Asus M4A88td V evo board and a 555BE, any ideas please, I will find out more in mean time like what PSU etc but probably a cheap one.

"I got a problem with the one I built, it keeps shutting down and going back to boot, then I get a message saying the anti surge was activated, it could be a problem with the PSU maybe I ought to change for a bigger one,but I thought that 500watts would have been ok, there again it could be the dims, I bought the cheap ones so I suppose I will have to try different things until i get it right, probably part of the learning curve LOL"

So its the PSU tripping out and affecting the PC to shut down through surge? Just its new to me not something Ive come across

Thanks,

Chris

Well standard sockets aren't protected from threats like spikes that mess up the capacitors in the computer and other components, so like yeah get an anti-surge extension cable asap!
