Hey Fellow OCN-ers,

I'm getting a ATI HD Radeon 5770 but I don't know which brand I should get. I do Know, for sure, that I want one with a shroud on it to blow the heated air out of the case...

I have had a few different manufacturers in the past with other cards, like MSI, XFX, etc... Both which were fine products.

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!

This is correct!

I went with XFX, because they were offering amazing combo deals!

I got two XFX 5770s for $320 brand new, and they have a great warranty!
*keep in mind they are $180 each*

Really? So I could pretty much just buy a Saphire, Diamond or any other 5770and flash the BIOS?

newegg.com is pretty much the most awesomest retail website for computers EVAR.

hahaha no but really try searching for one there

also I too am a huge fan of XFX, lifetime warranties are always a big plus for me, and xfx gives you a double one

Newegg, Mwave, eWiz, Zipzoomfly, NCIX, lol a lot.

To answer your question: Yes you can flash the BIOS of any card to Asus or MSI, however if you're not feeling squirrely it may be a better idea to just get them off the bat

Glad that it was common concern. I was tossing up the idea of a 4890 but i like the idea of less power consumption. Granted that it won't be a enough to buy another GFX in a year or two but it will still keep heat down in the case as well. This MSI 4870 I have is loud and Hot.

Kind of like my Wife! LOL

Thanks But yes I know. It will run cooler and consume a little less power. Only need one 6 pin instead of 2 like the 4870 that I just sold and dropped offf tonight to the Buyer.

So right now I have a XFX 7900gs in right 480Mhz 256mb 256bit... lol

So any suggestions?

EDIT:

Order an Asus 5770. Figured that I will sell it before the warrantee is up or get another one. Also won't have to worry about flashing the BIOS for OCing purposes.

Thanks guys for all of your input... It was appreciated.

Waiting on my H50 water-cooler for my CPU, and waiting to buy some AMD brackets...looks like newegg will not include them in the purchase. :swearing:
