Best to avoid the .5x
Have you under clocked the CPU to find the RAMs max stable speed and ...
Then set a stiff divider on the RAM to find the CPU's max stable speed yet?
Once you do try http://math.gogar.com/athlon64.cgi and see what those factors bring up. Note the last colume "lower is better" which relates to over all effency.

Vcore should be at around 1.65 tops, you wont get much more overclock by going over that and by going over that the chances of it spontainiously dying are greatly increased. Try running at 288 X 9 with ram divider at 140 (7/10)

Or if you think you can squeeze 216 out of your ram you could run at 150 (3/4) divider. Try upping your Vdimm (Ram Voltage) as that mingt increace the OCing ability of your ram.

As always, start off at a frequency you know your system can run at and go from there. Also keep in mind this may be all you can get from your proc.

You sure about that?

What bios are you running? Try 704-2bta...said to be the best overall bios for most configurations...
If you are on vapo, you should be able to get 2.6, it might just require alot of volts.

shows how much I know, lolz

Then dont expect to get 2.6, you are at your chips limit. 2.5 is an excellent overclock anyways for a winnie
