Anyone know what could be wrong with my NZXT Tempest's LED's?

About a week ago, as I'm turning on my computer, I notice the two blue LED bars on the front of my case (Which are composed of 3 blue LED's in both bars, 1 on either end and 1 in the middle) starting flickering really badly. My first thought was that the molex had somehow gotten loose, so I turn off the computer and re-plug the molex connector. Problem solved.

But now I notice that the bar on the right has gotten noticeably dimmer to the point of almost completely off, yet the left is still fine. And they both continue to flicker. Could their wiring be bad or something?

1. Try plugging the leds into a different molex connector from the psu.

See what happens...

You don't have a multimeter by any chance do you?

Are both of the led light panels hooked up to the same molex connector from the psu?

Don't even know what a multimeter is lol, and both panels are hooked up to the same molex. Sounds like wiring, doesn't it?

yeah see if you can play with the wires and get it to stop flickering..or get the one to turn on...you might have to get a multimeter and check things out. A multimeter can be bought from any electronics store or auto store and is just a tool for checking the circuit out. They are quite handy and the sooner you learn how to use one the better.

this is a multimeter http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...LAID=107593109

Yeah, either that, or they are simply going out, especially knowing that they are both connected to the same source of power, and one row is bright, and the other is not.

Just for grins, hook them up to a different molex from the psu first.

You can.....
Wiggle the connections to both while they are plugged in and powered up. I have to say though, I cant promise this won't completely make them go out.
If the connections are loose or damaged already, this could cause them to break off. Its up to you.

Replacing them shouldn't be too bad.

Its odd though, LED's don't usually blink, they usually just go out.
I have seen them dim plenty of times like you are saying, but it was because they were getting way too much current, or voltage.

This is probably not the case, but worse case scenario, it could be indicative of PSU problems. However, I would go through the first suggestions before I ever came to that conclusion.

yeah definatly try another molex those little buggers love to be a pain in the @**
Alright, trying another molex now...

EDIT: Well, different molex, same problems. I guess it's the wiring. Took off the front panel and messed around with the wiring a bit, no difference. Guess I'm contacting NZXT support to see if I can get a replacement panel (I've only had this thing for a few months...)
