Hey everyone,

So this bad boy is on sale today but I am not sure if I should buy it or not.

Has anyone used one and if so would you recommend it?

Those are awful. What kind of games will you be playing that "need" the gamepad?
My friend bought that exact same one.. it sucks. He used it for a few days to try it and hasn't picked it up since.. this was last year.
I would not buy that if it were me, unless I were a MMORPG'er, which I would rather die than become.

I wouldn't "need" it but mainly FPS games so the amount of keys would be fairly minimal.

Was it this model or the last model?

I use the Saitek Command Unit, the etching wears off the keys too fast but personally I find it much better than a keyboard - especially for FPS.
I'll sell you my Saitek that I used for a few months Like this, but in a different color scheme

Why do you like it more than a keyboard? Also, isn't it annoying to switch between the keyboard and gamepad if you wanna type anything?

I bought a cyber snipa, it was good the buttons were better allocated, I used it for like a month and got tired of switching back and forth, so I just use my keyboard, it is really on a pain when you what to type, then you have to reset your hands on your reg keyboard, I used it for fps (no mmo's for me).

It depends on what you're used to. For me, I have MUCH more control with the keyboard/mouse (WASD, etc.) than I do with a gamepad. I mean, a friend of mine who swears by using a gamepad (I think he uses his Playstation 2 or Playstation 3 controller) had me try it once, and I felt like I had absolutely no control whatsoever.

So, it's up to you. But I certainly wouldn't buy that Belkin thing.

Not really, it annoys me more to have to move the keyboard, I type with two hands with the keyboard directly infront of the monitor, I game with mouse on right, pad on left, evenly spaced either side. I find it more comfortable and from the shape of the pad I know where the keys are better.

i personally love the nostromo. I have had mine for a few years and do not play a PC game without it.
I only use gamepad when it comes to racing and maybe slow pace games like fallout 3 where i can just sit back and play
I've had my Logitech G13 gamepad for couple months already. At first initial, I found it awkward and kinda useless. And then, I started programming the macro keys to my liking and got used to it. Some games such as Crysis, COD4 and Dragon Age support the G13 and I love it since all my keys are just a finger away. The G13 is compact and once you program all the macro keys, your fingers don't need to travel far unlike the keyboard. I still use keyboards most of the time but I use the G13 whenever I can. I recommend the Logitech G13 over the Belkin, plus it has the LCD screen like the G15 keyboard.

What the bloody hell is that thing?

It replaces the keys on the keyboard that the left-hand would operate.

I tried a Nostramo (similar to the one posted) once, but I did not like the ergonomics and it was another piece of clutter to deal with.

i only use a gamepad for resident evil 4 and its this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826127204
I bought a genuine 360 controller.

I never use it on shooters. Just racing/flying games. Mouse + Keyboard is, IMO, the absolute king of shooters.

The only exception to that is GTA IV, I play that with the 360 controller.
