it depends, as there is both:
PC2 4200 (DDR2 500)
PC 4200 (DDR 500)

same way with DDR400
PC2 3200 & PC 3200

correction:
PC/PC2 4200 is DDR/DDR2 533. DDR/DDR2 500 is correctly known as PC/PC2 4000.

BTW that's what I use and I have it running DDR580
