im building my pc for playing games like PUBG.

i've ordered some parts and they will soon arrive.

CPU : Ryzen 5 1600
MOBO : GIGABYTE ab350 Gaming 3
SSD : Samsung 960 evo m.2 250gb
RAM : G.skill Ripjaws V series DDR4 3200 (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232181)

Now, my concern is that many people argue that they can't reach 3000 with OCing the RAM i ordered (Gskill Ripjaws V - Hynix).

So im considering returning the RAM if it doesnt secure stability with Ryzen 5 and the mobo.

can someone share me the experience with this ram or give some advice?

If you bought the Samsung 960 Evo for gaming you might as well return it

if you bought from newegg, yes, we recommend you exchange it. the set you bought is significantly slower. even at $157 it still not worth it. newegg has similar sets to what you already bought for $140, but in a different color: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231977

ryzen is extremely picky with which RAM it will work. i had to go through 4 sets but i got one that worked correctly with my 1700x and high end x370 motherboard.

the RAM linked above should work with your CPU. but i like this set better: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232476

i have one of these myself and it worked with ryzen

It's not "significantly slower" and the RAM you linked is also CL 16. Ryzen prefers Samsung B-Dies which are usually CL 14

You can try out my settings (can get 3200mhz)

I have same memory with B350 tomahawk.

You can try out my settings:

-Set manually timings 16-18-18-36 (disable xmp profile)

- Dram voltage 1.4

- Soc 1.1

-Gearmode > disabled

-Trc 75

-ProcODT 60

- If command rate 1 wont work, try 2.

-Set first 2800mhz, then 2933mhz ( if it boots) and so on.

-Disable memory try it!

-If it run steady you can put trc to auto and you can try out better timings.
