It appears that all of the minuses stacked against the iPhone weren't enough to phase buyers who lined up days in advance to purchase the latest "it device" from Cupertino. Not even the $499 (4GB) and $599 (8GB) price tags were enough to keep Apple from selling around 525,000 iPhones from 6:00 PM Friday evening through close of business on Sunday.

Hey look guys, despite your constant bashing of the iphone, 525,000 iPhones were still sold!!!

So it appears that just because something is expensive, it can still sell really well.

Yes on that 3G. My phone is 3G, but there is not 3G networks in my area. The iphone is a fashion statement just like the ipod was IMO.

This was my post form the other thread like 5 hours ago: I am in that situation being a professional with having a smartphone for email clients, word documents and all that jazz. The iPhone though really isnt a professional phone..its more of a toy for enthusiasts which want all of the benefits of a low end smartphone in a trendy expensive package. Like I noted above, HTC makes FAR better phones than Apple or Plam or Motorola ever will hope to make. Why?...Because they are aimed directly at the professional market.

The HTC Kaiser which will be released has dual cameras..One on the front for vido conferencing <--Again, a professional thing; and one on the back for regular photographs. It also has an extreme media application for client based email servers with POP3 as well as Word/Excel/PPT editing applications. It also has support for the new network services which are wirelessly 3600Kbps to a mobile device at a constant speed <--Again annother professional thing;

So, Like above, the iPhone is just an overpriced trendy thing that is overhyped and over advertised. Although, I must give high creditation to Apple for marketing tactics because it seems as if they've worked

-GM

EDIT: The HTC is also the very first phone that offers Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi, 3G, EDGE, GSM/GPRS, HDCP all in one package

Yep, I am very disspapointed... that level of hype should have sold at least 1 million units. Apple gets a 6/10 on hype machine performance.

You're saying the iphone isn't for business users, and that its just an overpriced trendy thing.

Of course it isn't for business users. AT&T won't let you use it on a business plan, and they never tried to get business users to buy it. If you're a business guy, then the iphone was never for you. Its just like the ipod, they market it to teens. And we don't know how it costed apple to make, it could actually be really cheap. Like the ps3, its not overpriced, its just too much.

Also, everyone saying the iphone is just a bunch of features and you don't need it, WHAT DO YOU NEED DUAL CAMERAS FOR?!

I mentioned in the post you quoted of mine why you'd need dual cameras...

for VIDEO CONFERENCING...

Like I said...The iPhone isnt a Busniess device just as you agreed. And, I was making the comparison to the Kaiser which is strictly a business device.

It it was @ me:

Dual cameras is a nice feature that way you are able to see the users at the other end on the screen of the handheld and, toi even start a video conference lets say if you are not able to be at the office in 30 min. Just start up the video conference and, it was as if you were sitting right there with everyone

Then why not just keep one camera on the front?

I beg to differ. Though I agree that the iPhone plays off of hype a ton, the iPod actually did something unique. Nobody before Apple had come up with a device so simple, yet so functional, and look at the MP3 player market today. It's not hard to see that the iPod was a successful design, because many other players mimic it.

It seems everyone loves to bash apple, even if they say otherwise.

he just said that it can STILL sell well, despite the fact.

Apple is just smart, and an overall great company in terms of being able to market and sell itself.
