~$500?
Edit: didn't even read that you already tried $500.
$500 seems like a reasonable price to me though, don't know why you didn't get any offers.

I would say $400. Single core processor, smaller hard drive than what is typically offered (250gb?) 2gb of RAM is nice, though. And I personally like xp pro. DVD burner is a pro, as well.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. Intel used to brand things as 'duo' but really have a single core processor. I believe it was a set amount of requirements the laptop or desktop had to meet, like the 'centrino' tag. I believe those are more mobile and have longer battery life because of the components.
How old is it? I would really have to say its only worth $300-$350. I would assume its around a year old but you can get a new one with those or better Specs for around $500 now and it would come with a year warranty.
