Another post about what parts to get. I'd like to watercool my i7 860. I'm only going to be doing my cpu for now but later on I want to do a gpu as well whenever I get a new video card. The only thing that puzzled me is which base I should get for my cpu. Basically, which is the best EK gpu to use. I also was unsure if a mcp355 will cool a cpu and gpu in the future when I want to expand. So here is my list.

cpu block: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/10...2_AM2_AM3.html

radiator: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/42...r_-_Black.html

pump: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/51...8_120_GPH.html

pump top: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/57..._LED_Port.html

reservoir: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/21...ver_Black.html

tubing(probably getting different color just making sure right id/od): http://www.frozencpu.com/products/86..._-_UV_Red.html

Fittings x8: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/10...MBCPF-CC5.html

I am using a Cosmos at the moment but before I do this I'll most likely be going to a 800d even though I could watercool with this case. Tell me watcha think.

Gentle typhoons are great for rads, fantastic static pressure, just go for the higher rpm ones as they dont cost that much and still are very quiet, make sure to do p/p for best results too

much much better radiator for 8 bucks more
Hah... wha? There's no way that's a better radiator than a Black Ice GTS. A Chinese-fab'd one-off being more expensive than a quality performance German product is almost depressing...

EK is from Slovenia and that radiator is much thicker then the Black Ice GTS. The Black Ice GTX Xtreme 360 Radiator is comparable to the EK radiator, but the price is $117.99 versus $68.99

I saw this coming... I'll tell you up front; every company except Feser, Thermochill, Watercool, and HWLabs (and maybe Koolance but I can't confirm that right now) outsources radiator production/manufacturing to a company in China. I won't say which one right now, but it should explain a few things, at least.

No it isn't, and the GTS actually has the highest FPI count of any radiator in its class (30, at least). The EK can't even beat a Thermochill, and Thermochills in turn are usually beaten by HWLabs:

Sure TC's are beaten by HW, but not GTS. Higher FPI won't do anything with low speed fans specially a GTS vers an EK or any other radiator that is thicker then the GTS. Also, HWlabs is based in the Philippines and is not a German radiator. As for Feser they stopped making standard radiators because they admitted that the price and performance ratio was very little and no one was willing to pay 40-80 dollars more for a radiator that yielded very little real world results.

Almost everything is outsourced to China, the chair you are sitting on, the computer parts you are using. To some exent some water blocks are outsourced too. It comes down to QC and not trying to cheap out too badly.
