What is the Foldathon?

Every month we hold a Foldathon, or FAT for short. The FAT is a mad dash over a 2 day period where we fold on as much hardware as we can get our grubby fingers on and try to amass the most points possible. It is winner takes all. Okay, that's not true, but if you're lucky you might win something, probably not, but you will have made a honorable contribution to the science behind [email protected] What is that science you're probably asking, have a gander over here to learn more. All units crunched for team 37726 count, even if you can only manage to complete one unit, but if you're already a folder, there's no excuse for not folding for the full 48 hours

How it works:

Sign-up and run [email protected] for Overclock.net (team number: 37726) during the specified times. Those who Fold will be entered into a drawing to win the prizes listed below. If you still don't know what [email protected] is or need some help getting started, feel free to post here, make a thread in the Overclock.net [email protected] Team forum or check this guide: FAHControl v7 for both CPU and GPU

----> SIGN UP HERE <----

You can verify whether or not you're signed up by looking for your name here in the member list.

If you don't submit any points during a Foldathon, you will be removed from the list, this is to push for active participation in the event.

You are required to re-sign up each month for the prize option, this is to hopefully push a little more active participation in the event as well and prevent prizes going to people who aren't active in the community.

When:

April 2020 Foldathon - Monday 20th - Wednesday 22nd - 1200 ET/1600 UTC

----> Countdown to Start <----

Reminders:

If you would like to be put on a reminder list for all future Foldathons, please join this group: Foldathon Participants

If you would like to be notified via Private Message, please send a private message Simmons572 to be added to the notification group.

Prize Winners:

- x5 OCN Premium Accounts - 1 Year Subscription

- x3 $25 Paypal Prize

- x1 $50 Paypal Prize

If you wish to donate a prize, shoot @lanofsong ,@Simmons572 or @axipher a PM

Prizes will be drawn on or around the following Monday after the event.
After accepting a prize in any given monthly folding event, members will sit out two events before becoming eligible for prizes again. This is to hopefully spread the kindly donated items amongst the OCN folding community more fairly.

I'm signed up. Actually switched back to FAH last night, but still seems pretty spotty on getting WUs.

I just recently got into [email protected] after all these years it has been out since last decade. I came aboard recently and I really like it, it is sorta fun. I can however only allow 1 core I guess I can do 2 cores CPU ....... The GPU I can do when I sleep because it ramps up the fans and it sounds like a jet. Lets go people lets do it and surpass our goals. Can't wait... Count me in. :)

Signed up for what its worth with the systems still being wonky lol. Just moved into a new place too so might try and utilize the extra space to get some other systems online for the first time in a few years. Lets see how expensive the electric is at my new place xD

As I want to show my appreciation to all the folders out there who are contributing to [email protected] as well as bringing the fight to Covid-19, I am hosting a folding giveaway on another site that may interest some of you, some great prizes up for grabs. This giveaway starts tonight and runs for 2 weeks, prior to this comp, so you have time to get some work units in on the other giveaway to have a chance at winning some prizes before the start of this one :)

Check it out: https://extremehw.net/forum/main-fo...olding-home-starts-midnight-08-04-20#post5029

Thanks to you guys for folding as always.

@Jon01010 Nice rig BTW, very pretty.
Thanks glad to hear you like it. I haven't done LEDs in the past and usually just OC and cram into a case for airflow, but the wife thought they were cool and I was planning on a bigger case with more rads for less noise so I bent up some tube and wired and soldered up the LEDs. It was my first attempt at that type of build so overall pretty happy with how it turned out.

The new slot options seem to have helped my WU shortage. I will monitor for a few more days to make sure, but that seems to have helped. I think the client-type Advanced probably is opening up a pool of WUs that many of the new people that jumped in for COVID don't have set, so I'm speculating, but I suspect that pool may not run out as often. I'll post another update in a few days after I see how my daily average trends. Thanks again for linking to the other thread.
